´Who has been confirmed for a fith series in 2010, and 3 specials in 2009.
Link: Who Confirmed
Bollocks. 'Bad Smell' Davies confirmed to be hanging around for the lot. There go my hopes.
Another Christmas special is planned for 2008, but there will be no full series in 2009. Instead three specials are planned for broadcast throughout 2009, with both David Tennant and lead writer Russell T Davies confirmed for both
Bugger that.
I thought 'Gushing' Davies was leaving this year (I assumed after the Christmas episode finished filming).
And if it's so popular why no full series in 2009, although if Davies is still around then it'll probably be a blessing.
If the reason they are doing specials is to ease in a new production team for 2010, then its a good thing.
If it's to secure the services of Russell T Davies on the misconception that the show needs him, then it could well be the death knell of the thing...
Time will tell
Tennant will be playing Hamlet with the RSC from July to November 2008, so he wouldn't be available for the filming dates for a series in the usual slot. They can do the Christmas '08 special and first 2009 special before he begins.
Interesting idea, I hope those specials are, well, special. I mean a big story not three one off daftathons.
I think its more likely to give the talent a breather, so Tennant can do his Shakespeare and Davies can make the beeb something "important".
Maybe about people shouting at each other in a hotel or something.

Nano-Bolt makes her artistic debut. Just Emailed this little beauty to DWA for her. Dead proud.

That's an absolute delight and sparkling with talent.
Also best spelling of Police I've encountered. :)
Tulkas.
I think I read somewhere Davis wanted a break cause he was getting sick of working in Cardiff.
Dave,
How old is Nano-Bolt?
On the topic of RTD I never realised before today that the guy off Queer as Folk was the mayor of Baltimore.
