What ya think?
Please say there's no nugget of truth in this? PLEASE!?
Genius idea!
hehe! I just put it to see any reaction to that, as after see Uwe Boll's IMDB. thanks gosh i hadnt see any of his films, but he does ruined the games to films!!!!
Don't even joke about it.
Remember, Dredd has been a video game. And what does Boll excell at? Bad video game to movie adaptions.
oh why he making those films????
oh why he making those films????
The short answer is, he gets grant money from the government to make them!
Yeah, the guys a genius when it comes to continually making terrible movies without ever having to worry too much about them being good enough to make money. I'm genuinely impressed by how he handles this side of things, but after watching(or enduring) House Of The Dead I haven't watched any others. Still amazed at how a movie with tits and zombies could bore me senseless like that.
sadly he just finished on film version of Far Cry, the brilliant game I enjoy, and now it ruined for any future film versions, cos Far Cry 2 will be out on game next year!
I heard he'd filmed the Far Cry movie(based on a game about jungle warfare more or less) in Detroit or somewhere equally wrongheaded. Maybe he found a jungle there that no-one else had noticed yet.
He uses a German tax shelter that underwrites the cost of the movie if they use a German crew, facilities, etcetera. He's apparantly the only one to use this tax incentive the way the German government intended it to be used - in order to make using local movie facilities and labour more desirable to domestic and foreign producers. For the most part, it was used by local companies to funnel money into American film productions.
Although his movies have mostly - and rightly - bombed, Bloodrayne, House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark have made enough to warrant sequels, and making money is the endgame for a movie, when all's said and done.
His Far Cry treatment sounds mad. I thought the game was good, but I had it on Xbox and the seven-minute loading time put me off repeat playing.
Apparently he buys the rights to the game before making the film.I am sure REbellion wouldnt let him anywhere near anything 2000ad related.Judge Dredd or otherwise. It would be commercial suicide not to mention severely pissing off all the 2000ad fans.
Another tactic he apparently employs is that just using the brand recognition because it's based on a successful game he can sell all the foreign distribution for a pretty penny before he's even started work on the movie. I wouldn't mind the guy if he just came out and said his sole motivation was turning a profit because he's obviously pretty good at it, but I've read interviews and he genuinely believes he's making good movies.
He may make awful films but my opinion of him went up when he managed to get 4 of his film critics into a boxing ring over here in Vancouver for an 'exhibition' fight.
He knocked the shit out of those guys.
4 internet critics who are stupid enough to not research that Boll had been an amateur boxer for about 12 years.
House of the Dead was an amazingly bad film, even the main chick with the great rack couldn't hold my interest
If he wants to pay the flight fares[business class +] to Vancouver then happy to fight him as long as its not rules of the ring.It would be nice to see Vancouver again
He hand-picked his opponents for the boxing match, and turned down one amateur-level kickboxer who called him out personally - not exactly leaving it to chance, was he? He also claimed he'd arrange fight training for the matches before any of the critics got near the ring. Didn't happen.
Having said all that, I do like the idea of internet people being called out if they write a bad review. It somehow makes the world seem like a better place if there's a chance Wil Ferrel might get his face punched off the next time he makes an alleged comedy.
You cant be serious.Have you seen what he looks like? A bit on the podgy side to say the least.
Ron Pearlman was in Bloodrayne. He should have had a go .He looks like he could fight.
Top Tip : If you get a small sqaure of Lead sheet about 2 inches or so square then roll it up into a small roll of lead that is circular and fits in the palm of your hand and your fist then it adds a lot lot more force to your punches because it is adding weight to the punch .
Surely just hitting harder would make more sense?
Or a horse shoe, just whack em with a horse shoe. or if theres no horses about then half a house brick.
My physics is non existant but i think it is the mass or density of the object combined with the speed at which it is moving is measured in Newtons so the heavier object will always have more force behind it at the point of impact.
I nearly did use a whole brick once but the individual i was going to use it on ran off.
I am not saying anymore about this sort of thing now .I think thats enough for tonight.
Uwe Boll should be movie producer or a accountant, not a director.
What films has Uwe Boll done so i can see what sot of a director he is....I was looking forward to Postal until I saw this thread. Check out the trailer to the film, sick but funny
His reputation is based on the films from 2003 onwards.
Link: Touched by the hand of Boll
HELL NO!! HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANY OF HIS "MOVES"? :-P
OK SO I MEANT MOVIES. MY FUNTIN' I BUTTON REFUSES TO WORK SOMETIMES :-P
Never seen any of his films and cant say I am attracted to any of the titles so I think I will watch Postal and agree with everybodies posts that Boll should stay the fuck away from Dredd
