Spare no effort in tracking this one down.  It's as good a use of trees as you will ever see.

Greatest story ever....I swear to god now I see why this is ranked as one of the best. I was practically cheering on Johnny and how often is it you see pretty much one huge continuous story like this these days even those two tales after rage feel like aftermath stories

Got this the other day from Borders on the cheap (cheers Borders!). Loved. Every. Minute.

I think i've read most of the stories before but not THE story, great ending with the double bluff.

Jonny's some real badmutherfucka eh?

Has the question of the change to colour been answered yet? As in will the reprint continue in B+W or will the volmes slim down to accomodte

Last I knew, there's one more b+w volume (or maybe two), followed by a colour volume to wrap up Final Solution.

Then probably a color trade reprinting the latest SD exploits by Wagner and Ezquerra

If you were to buy only one of all the collected editions of all the old 2000 AD material, the third Strontium Dog Case File would be the one to pick.

Not that the others aren't brilliant... It's just that this one is more brilliant!

You can get 'em from Book Depository for something like £11 or £12 and free delivery. I just bought S/D Books 2 and 3, Nemesis 2 and JD 4 from there.

You actaulley mean fre overseas delivery.

There has to be catch?

They might take their time getting the books I ordered.

Yes, overseas, and no catch. I live in Ireland and they usually have the stuff within 7 working days. I don't think I've ever waited more than that.

I was never really a big buyer of 2000AD trades until they started on the complete and in order stuff, as I have all the original comics, but having said that, I have bought the Dredd Casefiles 1 - 8, the Stront Agency Files 1 - 3, the first 2 Nemesis ones, and the first 2 Cabs ones.  And the 2 Cabs trades.  Oops.  Oh, and the complete Halo Jones.  I''ll buy stuff thats complete and in order, it seems... easier than digging the progs from the loft.

The 3rd Stront book is the best of the lot.

I've got all the case files and both Nemesis volumes, but I only have the first complete JD. Am I a terrible person?

Is this one sold out?

Because I can't find it in the Online shop on this site, here.

Link: No sign of the 3rd SD book there.......

That site's often behind at adding books, so SD 3 not being on there is no indication of availability (or the lack thereof).

"How shall I buy the damn book if it's not put up there."

Uh, you could try buying it from somewhere else, you know. Amazon.co.uk has it in stock, for one.

My reasons for choosing the online shop here are that I'm sure that I'm buying from the source here.

I have tried buying the books from other places!!!

Being where I am, there are no reliable bookstore where I live that might actualley order in this material without me asking them to before hand. Useally when I do, the books are given to me slightly damaged.

I have tried ordering through other places more local to me and have become dissatisfied with service which in the long run had been a pain in the arse for me.

If you have read any of my preveiuos posts regarding my problems with this shop, then you may already know why I choose to use the online shop here.

Amazon.com charge alot of money for overseas package and handling.

Amazon.com's Air Mail Delivery Rates:
----------------------------------------------

Item     /     Per Item     /   Per Delivery

Books    /2.99 GBP(Aust Dollar 7.1194)/ 4.99 GBP  (Aust Dollar 11.8816)

Amzon.com's Priority Express Delivery Rates:
----------------------------------------------

Item    /      Per Item     /   Per Delivery

Books   / 5.49 GBP (Aust Dollar 13.0721)      25.99 GBP ( Aust Dollar 61.8841)

----------------------------------------------

This is not including the price of the books themselves.

That's alot of money either way.

Though I don't know the exact rates, I do have reason to believe that the Online shop here has better rates and they are more effeciaent than Amzon.com as well.

So, what is the problem with Strontium Dog Book Three?

Why would you discourage me from buying the book here?

I now notice that there is a shop at 2000AD reeiw. They have the book.

I just would like to know before ordering if they are connected with the shop here. They might be the same store as yhe one here or they might be connected to Amaon.

Not Sure.

That sounds good. It costs me £4.50 to send a single copy of FutureQuake over to the US, so a fiver for a book is value.

"Why would you discourage me from buying the book here? "

Er, since when did I do that? My point was that if you're desperate to get the book, there are other avenues, until the 2000 AD store gets its arse in gear and puts the books on its online store. As for Amazon charging a fiver to send the book to you, that's a bargain if it really is an airmail rate, considering how bloody heavy it is (and the fact books are wrapped in card containers). It wouldn't cost significantly less to send it first-class mail to another location in the UK!
Title: Re: Strontium Dog S/D Case File Nu...
Post by: ThryllSeekyr on 04 November, 2007, 09:09:55 PM
Fiver?

No, If you you living in the UK. Well, I guess that's may be the only excess your paying. Though some you might be paying the extra 25 p[ounds if you ordering Priority .

BUt If you read it properply, you'd realised I'm paying about $74.9362 AUD before the price of the two books themselves which is going to be about  $40.8233 AUD.

Thats going to be 115.7595 AUD all up.

Can the shop here, beat that price that I would be otherwise be paying at amazon.com for the second 'Nemesis the Warlock' book and the third 'Strontium Dog' book.

Look, can you assure me that if I send Julian Hall or one of the other shop officials a E-mail asking for this particular 'Strontium Dog S/D Case Files Volume Three'. Thga it will be wrapped up and sent to my address in Australia with the Nemsesis ( Book Two!) book that I am ordering from the online shop here.

The Final Solution is a 154 page story (149 pgs + a 5-page recap by Colin MacNeil just before the last color episodes), so probably not much else beyond some cover scans.

The No-Go Job was a preguel to the Final Solution, so it makes sense that they should both be in the same volume.
