Hi Batson . Happy new year to you .Hope you are well.
Repeat after me: Happy new year boarders .Hope you all had a good one and are well etc etc. You know the sort of thing..... [dont repeat that bit though]
Its [probably] because you havent done that that no one has answerwed you. [yet].
I dont know what is wrong with some people.
Judge Dredd : Mandroid: The script had a few flaws in it or the judges more like.Great art .I enjoyed it but the character died rather pointlessly at the end.
Nemesis book 3 : This came out when i wasnt reading so i dont know but presumably good anyway.
As for the rest i havent a bloody clue TBH.
hiya batson! never mind the grumpies on the board i'll chat to everyone!
loved that pointless topic thread by the way dont know if thats what you intended but a rolloking sucess!
happy bnew year by the way!
out of that lot only mandroid interests me but my resolution is to broaden my perspective were reading is concerned so i'll track em down in the library to try before you buy.
never got into the star wars books, tried them but missing that je ne saisquois!
missed a lot of the later nemesisisisis' so i may have to try that as well.
i dont know why i'm so chirpy today,i'm back at work tomorrow!
Happy new year!
I really like Fables, but I'm a bit unhappy to realise I'm now THREE books behind. I have one due to arrive from Amazon but I must get back up to date.
Hope you enjoy them all!

I wasnt being grumpy at all.
I just dont know why some just cant say Hi All or something .
Perhaps i am being old fashioned.
Yours not grumpily
PW.
Dump the Heroes and Star Wars crap and it's all fine.
Howdy Bateson,
Here's an uninformed rating:
Heroes; dunno
Judge Dredd Mandroid; excellent choice, it's vintage Dredd
Star Wars: I'd read one of these if paid AUD$52.00 or more per hour, otherwise it's not my bag (baby)
30 Days of Night: Dunno
Fables Vol 10: I've read two books of this, both were fun and interesting
Ex Machina: I've flicked through this in a library, didn't find it very inspiring
Droid Life: Great fun, more so if you know anything about 2000AD - good choice
have a good year of the Rat!
My copy of "The Ballad of Halo Jones" came today.
This is my first reading of it (it was suggested to me some while back by another poster when I mentioned the lack of deeper stories in 2000 AD).
I finished it this evening, and what a wonderful read it was.
Bit off topic, but didn't want to make a whole new thread about it. Hope thats ok.
As for Judge Dredd Mandroid, I believe that's the earlier book right? I think the death mentioned above happened in the second Mandroid story that was just finished in the prog. I haven't read the first one though so maybe that reference applies to something that happened to another character.

The TPB includes both the original Mandroid and the story that's just finished in Prog 1566.

That was me! Good to hear you picked this up, it's possibly 2k's single most essential story.
I spent some time wondering what all the hype was in aid of, believing it couldn't possibly live up to the weight of expectation - how wrong I was.
oh you are a bit grumpy sometimes! wasnt actually referring to you merely the grumps who WOULD get grumpy for batson not showing proper etiquette etc.
so it wasnt you.so cheer up.go on den(wobbles peter's cheeks)go on den!mr grumpy!dats better ,yes it is den!

Really? That's good then. They could have easily split it in two to make more money I guess... although each book wasn't really long enough for that.

Thanks, I'm glad you did. I bought it from play.com and I notice there were two under that title, one yet to be published, and this one. I wondered if the new one would contain any more material, but it's actually a couple of pages shorter, so I just opted for the one available rather than waiting.
Here they both are.I know Alan Moore never completed the series but is the last story in that book
the one where she kisses Tarantula good bye and flies away on his space craft the last Halo Jones?
I rate:
Nemesis the Warlock Volume 3
...AND...
The Walking Dead Book 3
Mardredd - I don't know about any particular book, but the story you describe is the last Halo Jones, other than comedy appearances in stories in the landmark progs. I'm thinking of things like Tharg's Head, in IIRC prog 500.
