Title: World War One. Giant Bats.

What was the name of the strip, the comic it appeared in, where can I find out more and is anyone bringing one to Inverness?

The Bloody Red Baron was a great little book by Kim Newman that had Richtofen as a giant vampire bat with a machine gun.

In more WWI/bat action, the Invaders back in the 70s had a story line in which a vampire bat/baron preyed on the Allies in WWI and, oddly enough, came back to WWII as a Nazi Vampire Bat. That story was okay but the art, by Frank Robbins was total rubbish

I think you're after "Black Max" which ran in "Thunder" and then "Lion and Thunder". The THunder Annuals (one of which features the strip on the cover) can be found pretty cheaply.

Brilliant - that rings a bell.   I knew it was in something like one of those mags.

(oh and apologies for the shortness of my original post, I was on the bog using my Palm to post. I washed my hands before I pressed post message though).
