Are now accepting nominations, obviously I'm not expecting anything - but if anyone bought PREVIOUSLY and would like to nominate it it, it won't win, but it may draw a little bit more attention to it and make it that little more likely I can sell some (and do a second one).
(Because I got confused: the 2007 eagle awards are for things that were published in 2007... Personally I'd call it the 2008 Eagle Awards, but still, what do I know...)

Let the votes commence...
Bolt-01, eligible for a few things this year...
What a couple of shameless whores!
I'm voting for Mark Millar.
- Trout
Tharg for Roll of Honour
Trout- don't fret, if it's anything like the art comps I'll not get a single vote.
Bolt-01
I see Judge Logan has been nominated as a hero of 2007.
I'm nominating Paul Grist for everything he qualifies for.
And John Wagner and/or Henry Flint for everything else creator related.
There are few cock-ups on the nominations-
'2000 AD' and '2000AD'
'BOLT-01' and 'Dave Evans'
to name two that I've spotted.
Will this get sorted out, or will it split votes?
Judge Logan wasnt an option when I voted earlier, as all i read is stuff from the house of tharg at the mo y choices were predictable but did vote for Wagner or the roll of honour, couldnt believe he hadnt got it already.
Now hands up who voted for Judge Logan?
'What a couple of shameless whores!'
Make that three!
If anyone liked The 13th Floor and would like to nominate it, well, who would I be to stop them!
Cheers
David
I'm in a similar position, I do largely just read 2000AD, and had to pass on at least one of the American options. But I think I had a pretty good go at the voting this time round. With lots of well deserving Brit comic creators 9both large and small) being nominated.
Perhaps I should have put Judge Logan down for best villain, he's obviously a wrong un, but I'm going with PJ Maybe (again). He may be an evil psykopath, but he's doing a great job as mayor and more good than harm I feel. So if you have a social conshunsh then you'll vote for PJ Maybe, after Dave of course, my favourite Mayor ever.
I had to double check Wagner wasn't there, and he got my vote. Fully deserved and he's having a good year so far. I also voted for that Mark Harrison President Booth Cover, the first of last year, I bloody loved that.
*Self-pimping begins*
I do have an unnaturally well developed sense of shame, but it's still not enough to prevent me plugging Omnivistascope, my SF comic which will have its fourth issue in May. It may not be the best comic in the world, but it's probably the best comic I can possibly make.
I've been reworking the OVS website though it's not ebtirely completed and the OVS sampler (with stories from each issue to date) isn't ready, but soon hopefully! If you like it, please vote for it, if you don't, vote for someone else you like, maybe one of the pimps above or below :)

Nominations sent. Why on earth is Jack Staff under Black and White comics? It hasn't been black and white in 4 years.
Shameless media whore mode on:
Anybody who enjoyed THRILL-POWER OVERLOAD could vote for it in the 'Favourite Comics-Related Book' towards the bottom of the nominations form, in the Related Media section. Alas, you have to scroll down a little among the possible nominations to spot it.
Shameless media whore mode off!
done, that's a pint you own me!
Huff
aarghh-i started filling this in but there are way too many options featuring people i've never heard of
you have my best wishes lads- cant be arsed with that voting form
cant be arsed with that voting form
If I'm reading things right, that's the nominations form and not the voting form, which I think will have a limited amount of nominees per award.
Simon Spurrier - favourite newcomer writer.
The Walking Dead - favourite colour comic?
Oops!
Double Oops.
Please make the bold stop.
*WHORE ON*
JUDGE GLASSWELL got at least two sassy lines last year - he should be Best Supporting Character.
*WHORE OFF*
I was assuming Spurrier had popped up in the newcomer category because of Gutsville getting his name about outside the UK a bit more. Does that mean I can nominate Frazer Irving?!? I mean how new do these people need to be?
This new! I'm getting my Shameless Pimp Hat on to remind everyone that I'm a relative newcomer too, so I hope all Tempest loyalists (and it does seem to be going down like Marmite at the moment) will bear me in mind...
Al, you've already been nominated for best newcomer (assuming I actually understand how the thing works, that is)
Does someone/ something have to receive so many 'nominations' before they're actually nominated?
How does it all work?
The nomination process works as follows:
People vote for who they like. As they vote the nomination page builds a memory of names that have already been used, so you don't end up with votes like: 'Spider-MAN', 'SPIDERMAN','SPIDERTYPO'. What should happen is you go to the website, pick something from the list - and if your pick isn't there then you type something new in. That then gets added to the list.
Just because a name is on that list DOES NOT mean that it's had more than one vote.
Once the voting closes, the votes will be tallied up and the three top voted names in each category will be the shortlist. With the winner being the top voted (obviously).

(I could be wrong, but IIRC that's what's happened in previous years)
I've just Cast my votes and in the Roll of Honour catagory i've voted for (predictably) Massimo Belardinelli, thought it might be nice if we could get him to at least into the final.
Cheers,
Rob.
I have considered it Al! Tempest is great stuff, but I'm currently agonising over other choices.
Being incredibly ignorant to the creative process the best artist/inks and best artist/pencils thing has thrown me. I genuinely don't know which category my favourite artists would fall into, so haven't voted for anything yet. I know it's probably a very dumb thing to get confused by but if any of the talented artists on here fancy talking down to an idiot then please explain the difference to me!
"I've voted for (predictably) Massimo Belardinelli"
Howls of anguish from me here as I curse myself. Of course it should be Massimo, Robby, maybe you should put a thread up for it and post in on 2000AD review as well.
I voted for John Wagner who of course deserves it, but Wagner's still with us, and Massimo isn't.
Vote in haste, repent at leisure.
The penciller draws the comic with a pencil. His marks are the first ones on the page. Then this is handed over to an inker who inks it. (This is pretty basic stuff, innit). Then, finally, a colourist gets their hands on it.
Some artists do pencils and inks. Most of the UK artists pencil and then ink, which means they're eligible for either category, so you could vote both - or, just which ever category you feel they're better at (X pencils and inks his own work, but his inks are waaaay better than his pencils, therefore vote him in the inks)
I'm not, strictly speaking, eligible for the only category I seem to be listed in - new artist - but that's ok, I made an American debut, so it's not totally unreasonable, I suppose.
(In the past, Fraz won best newcomer awards two years running, iirc...)

Thanks for that PJ, now I can get on with the voting!
