Virgin Comics' Dan Dare, issue 3:

Nice work, eh?
The whole series is shaping up to be a real treat. It's a good old-fashioned adventure story, with just the tiniest touch of modernity. There is a similarity to Morrison's Dare - no, nothing for the Speed Dating thread - but that's no bad thing.
My comics supplier reports it's outselling Batman, at least in his shop.
I suspect I may have missed a thread dedicated to this, but I'm sure I'll be forgiven.
Anyone else loving Ennis and Erskine's Dan Dare?

Me,
but I'm not bothering with the variant covers.
My comic shop has also reported that it's selling incredibly well and has had to order more in, which can only be great news,
I get my comics by post and wasn't bothered which cover I got.
Glad I got this one, though.
His eyes are still the wrong colour, though...
I can't tell if he's cuddling those monsters or giving them a Chinese burn.
I was dead set against it at the start, but find myself browsing then buying each issue. It's turning out to be not half bad, even if the setting is a bit too grim for my Dare-tastes, and Digby is just some other guy with the same name. Ennis is being commendably restrained.
Trout if you'd come to HI EX you'd have got a loverly poster of DD and signed too ;p
