Action, eh? Personally, I reckon the Action stuff would be perfectly suited to pulp EE-style reprint, or, at the most, Case-Files-style chunky volumes. Knowing Titan, we'll get 'luxury' 64-page hardback volumes for 20 quid each.

Yeah, I was surprised and disapointed this morning to realise that this is the last issue. I think the choice of material was off putting. It was sqaurely aimed at comic book fans as opposed to readers and as such contained material that they probably already had.

D.C.U. is a particular blow as I was interested in the potential line up for issues 8 and above.

There was much talk in the letter cols about the future of both titles, was that just bluster do you think?

Bank goes a few of the stories that I would lIke to have done!
Still its great news, these titles are long overdue reprinting, and I for one will def be buying the Battle and Actions( hope there not hardback)and I might have a look at some of the Mistys as well

I'll be keeping my Action book.  The (non-monitary) value of the book isn't just in its reprints but the commentary.  Martin Barker saw the worth of Action before many others did.

The DC news is odd, so they've bought these titles as a spoiler form their rival and are now dropping them?

Anyway, the Battle, Action, Misty, Tammy reprints are great news, not sure where it'll all end or what we'll really get, but I welcome it all the same.  My attempts to collect Battle and Action have stalled over the years.

Not interested in Roy much, but no doubt others will be, he's one of those few characters like Dredd, Dan Dare, Dennis the Menace and Desperate Dan (hmmm... lot of D's) that have universal cultural recognition.

For what it's worth David, I think people like you and Chris Smilie have paved the way for bigger companies to come along and do this stuff.  So thanks, even if it does means you've become something of a victim of your own success.

Seconded. Your efforts made the big boys sit up and take notice.

You see the problem I had with jll is twofold

1 They were printing stuff I already had

2 That annoying habit of printing only half an issue (admitedly that was because of justice.

I am sad to see Dcu go though as that had stuff I never read before in it

Fantastic news about the Battle reprints. A collected 'Darkies Mob' would have been nice, but after the Meg reprint a collected edition would be too much to hope for I guess. Curious about the choice of 'Buster' - could the legendary 'Leopard from Lime Street' see the light of day. Here's hoping.
