Okay I know some of you lot out there are as bad as me for collecting, so having found this I thought you had better know!
Prog 1589 comes in two covers, the first is the Defoe one which is advertised, but the second is the issue given away free with SFX no171 and with that you have to buy it from ASDA or you won't get it. This one has the X-ray Dredd head with the microchip tooth as the cover.

Yes it does.
And they have different packaging to the ones given away by the Meg and some of the cards have NEW artwork also.

crap, these free SFX gifts dont come on the overseas copies :(, summat to do with copyright or somesuch crap. Dont want the extra cover more the Cards I'm interested in.

I just went to Asda but there was no free 2000AD advertised for SFX 171 (the X-Files cover?) - is it only at the check out that you find out about it?

It is enclosed in a plastic wrap with the mag itself.

I've always been a geek but I guess I'm now officially a nerd as I stopped off at Asda on the way home and got one.
The SFX issue has an X-Files cover, but that's probably the same as the normal one.

Saw this last night and despite it being a lovely cover there is no way I want to buy SFX.
However, it is an ASDA exclusive extra according to the packaging so well done Tharg.

Matt- IIRC this image has been around for a while- so I'm just thinking that the new layout doesn't work withthat image. The 'eyes' would be largely obscured by the current dress.
