For those of you who don't like to see Smilies or Flash Animations etc, you can change your settings to prevent the displaying of such in your Control Panel.
Use the link at the top of the page to go to your User Control Panel
Under the Board Preferences tab there's a Edit Display Options section
Here you can change how the forum handles images, flash, smilies, signatures, avatars and censoring to suit your personal preference.

Was it Nigel Dobbyn who created a set to 2000AD smileys a while back?

Smileys are normally, to my mind at least, overly used.

I like the smilies Mike. Nothing like a bit of low-fi art. Good bit of lateral thinking with the DX-[ ) one but surely the chin deserves a few more hits on the space bar.
