Title: Registered Users and groups
Post by: The Enigmatic Dr X on 12 July, 2008, 02:53:25 PM
I just stumbled across this, while playing with the Control Panel. I see that there is a registered user group. Is the plan for there to be a lot of groups on this site? Seems potentially divisive, especially if access to a group is on subjective grounds . Or is the function to split between subscribers and non-subscribers?

The groups thing is just something that comes with the board. I was thinking of creating a group for droids, but I don't see the point of lots of groups.

Yes, but that's the only thing that might come into effect. Having a subscribers only section is something on the cards where only subscribers can see certain forums categories. But we'll have to see :)

Oh I see.. it's 'them and us' is it?

I say PAH! to your groups, lets keep it all out in the open.

Umpty I'll probably be removed from the group for letting a 'non-grouper' know...but the group has already started.  I've said too much already...forget everything!

Do you have to stand on one leg ,go through an initiation ceremony ,swear an oath and do a funny handshake to join ?

" Having a subscribers/initiates only section is something on the cards where only subscribers/initiates can see certain forums categories " ??

Whats it all about then ??

Dont worry though i have *no* intention of joining or "fraternising" [huge collective sigh of relief] anything that isnt out in the open out of principle as i dont like them and us situations particularly.

However dont violate your obligations and compromise and place yourself at risk by answering this post .

PAH ! To secret societies. ;)

I can't join, why isn't it letting me join? Is it my immense foes list?

All of the above!

Actually, I have no idea what people are going on about other than subscriber related treats for the main site...doubt we're going all fraternal  :?

sorry just saw:

QuoteTBH a motherhumping Elitest Privet Members stuff would accually put me off

I assume that only relates to the forum, as there will be subscriber only stuff on the site...that's just part of the perks. These would include higher rez desktop images, or discounts on merch as a couple of examples.
