Title: The Travellers: Shadows
Post by: Wake on 14 September, 2008, 04:20:31 PM
The third story has just been uploaded to the Travellers' website along with a 'movie poster' style cover which Mark did this year.

The Travellers (//http://www.2000ad.org/markus/travellers/)

As a quick intro for anyone who hasn't seen the site before, The Travellers was printed in black and white in White Dwarf (//http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Dwarf_(magazine)) magazine from 1983-86 alongside Thrud the Barbarian. The Travellers was based on Traveller (//http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traveller_(role-playing_game)) the RPG, with many cameos from Star Wars and other sci-fi films.

Quality! Although I recognised Carl Critchlow's name from Thrud the Barbarian, I never realised Travellers had a 2000AD connection.

I loved the Travellers in White Dwarf, although at the time many of the references pass over my head and I just enjoyed the gratuitous laser fire. Good to see it again.

I hated it at the time cos it replaced Thrud and wasn't nearly as funny...but i did quite like the game Travellers, daft as it was ("Hello? Space dock? Yeah, I'll have eight tons of Computer installed on my new ship please...")
