Right, One for you music video lovers.
A couple of years ago I saw a music video on one of the MTV type channels and I am trying to find out what band it was for and what the track was called.
The reason I am asking the Mighty Hivemind is because the video was like a mini movie following the Journey through the cosmos of a space ship travelling from a (I think) space station to a planet (a future earth type thing). It's all CGI and has warp gate type travel and stages separating and the like and the planet the astronauts land on is all desert and environment suit worthy but has some obvious earth land mark sticking out of the sand (a bit Planet of the Apes).
So, any ideas?
Did it have anything to do with the "Heavy Metal" movies, maybe?

As in music? or the Euro Comic film? if music then noooo the music was more Indi a bit like Keane stuff really. If the Euro comic film it was very modern realistic CGI not 80s animation.
This one has spaceships in it but they are really rubbish.

Pretty cool video. Music wasn't that great, I'm more of a house/techno freak though.

Yes, I'd give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.
Oh mighty Hive mind- I implore you...
Does anyone have any scanned ref images of Siadwell Rhys? The Red Dragon from Zenith book 1. I'm not after the whole story- just a couple of decent costume shots would suffice.

Please and thangyew...
Here's a quick one I have to hand. I'll have a proper scan for you:

As directed by Steve Tappin, formerly of this parish.
How easy would it be to sneek up on The Red Dragon with that helmet? (ooer)

That's probably why he got zapped so easily.

PS: Has anyone ever compiled a list of 2000AD alumni who have gone on to more widely* recognized things?
*I won't say "greater" because, clearly, there
is nothing greater than service to the MIghty One. Obviously.
QuoteHas anyone ever compiled a list of 2000AD alumni who have gone on to more widely* recognized things?
There was a thread about it a while back, though I don't think it was definitive. I think it was called 'Didn't they do well' or something.
Tappin was part of Ark VFX wasn't he? I really loved his work on Rogue Trooper when I was a kid - time for a reappraisal of Abnett/White/Tappin-era RT?
That's right Tappin is one of the founders of Ark VFX in Sheffield...
Oh..heard from Simon Harrison.. He's well and happy..no plans for comics sadly.
Oh Mighty hive, keeper of knowledge too precious to be lost I come before you seeking pictures of BRIGAND DOOM!
I am unable to access a lot of my old progs at the mo, so if anyone has a decent shot of Doom please share!

Many thanks Bouwel.
I'm thinking of purchasing all of the pages of marvellous Colin MacNeill art that featured Judge Glasswell. I believe I manage a couple of sassy lines (but have probably since died from a severe double entendre)
Fatboy Dale has the whole story but I just want the pages where I'm mentioned by name.
It's in the Mutie Camps story line - roundabout Prog 1546 - but I don't have the progs available.
Could anybody help please? And who lettered it? (I want to do a lettered overlay)
Annie Parkhouse did the lettering for 1546.
What else do you need from those progs?
-Bouwel-
Excellent - Thanks.
Just the episode and page numbers where there is dialogue referencing Judge Glasswell or where there's art and you can see my... er... his badge.
At a quick (very quick..) skim I can't see a Judge Glasswell.
I have to go and do some actual work now so I'll try and have a look later on this evening.
-Bouwel-
Don't tell me this is where I find out I dreamt it all.
Maybe it's not in 1546 after all - but I'm sure I was somewhere in that storyline.
QuoteDon't tell me this is where I find out I dreamt it all.
C'mon, that'd be the funniest thing ever! And I only say this because last might I had a very realistic (if entirely implausible) dream involving Keira Knightley, which I was convinced on waking had actually happened.
BOLLOCKS, I thought, 5 seconds later.
Note: My waking mind has no particular interest in Ms. Knightley. Apparently my subconcious begs to differ.
Judge Glasswell is refered to by name only once in the story, and that is on page 2 of prog 1546.
His badge is never seen clearly enough for his name to be shown, but the closest would be prog 1547 page 6.
I've had a proper look now and I'm afraid the images are just too small to make out any detail on the badge.
Sorry.

Mighty Hive- holder of all the useful knowledge,
Can someone with a better memory than me remember who the copyright holder is for Charley's War? I'm thinking it is Egmont, but I might be wrong.
Yep, you're quite right Bolt. It is Egmont. Says so down the side of the first page in each meg it was reprinted in.
© Egmont Magazines Ltd.
P.S I've read about three of those Zarjaz you sent me Dave and they're bloody marvellous. Cheers Kerrin.
Kerrin, thanks for the kind words, but you aint seen nothin' yet.
I've just finished work on three pages of pure gold from the mind of .... Heh, that would be spoilers.
Cornelius from Skizz. What's his surname? I keep thinking Van Owen, but that's the scientist bloke, isn't it?
Cardew is ringing bells for me? He has an O-Level in metalwork, and is a dab hand at pipe fitting, if that's any help.
It is indeed Cardew.
Prog 316 gives his qualifications as a 140 yard swimming certificate, a grade 4 O level in woodwork and his service layers exams.

Cheers lads. The reason it came up was because I was reading a bit about this guy: He probably had his pride (//http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornelius_Cardew). Of course, I now see Skizz is mentioned in his wikipedia entry.
Flippineck, you learn something every day!
(and of course it was Woodwork not metalwork... tccch).
Hive-mind- I have a conundrum for you.
I've done some RAM upgrading and gotten an external Hard drive as well. One of the things I've done is remove all the comic makey programs and reinstall them on the external drive to free up space on the C.
So far so good- except that Illustrator didn't uninstall properly, and so when I am trying to install (This is Illustrator 10, not a CS version) it I don't have the option to install- just repair. Repairing is no good, and telling it to uninstall just leaves me in the same boat I was in.
I've gone through the control panel to delete the program as well and that didn't fix anything.
The point of my post: Is there a utility I can download that I can use to clean the program out properly and in doing so allow me to try to reinstall?
Getting really fed up know as I have lettering jobs mounting up (though unlike Jim I don't get paid)
If you load up your Illustrator 10 CD and go through the initial installation steps, you'll get options to '"Repair" or "Remove". They may help?
M@
Nope, tried that. If I ask it to uninstall it just runs and closes- the program is still there. Repair gave me a boggling list of options that required highlighting. I did this and the program ran till it came up with an error- though this was last night and I can't remember the exact wording.
There are quite a few uninstall utilities out there - Google will hopefully help here. I use Ccleaner (//http://www.ccleaner.com) for various maintenance tasks which it's very good at, and it has an uninstall feature which may work?
M@
Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow as the CCleaner seems to have tidied up things appropriately and I'm going to try to re-install tonight.
So here's a pre-emptive cheers!
