Those lovely people at www.networkdvd.net (http://www.networkdvd.net) have a nifty sale on at the moment. Everything was cheaper from their website anyway but now there's an aditional 40% off.
They specialise in ITV related programmes and amongst their back catalogue are Beasts, Kinvig, Arthur C.Clarke and the kingdom of the crystal skull, Owl Service, and brilliant shows like The adventures of Robin Hood, Special Branch, The XYY man, Upstairs Downstairs, Press Gang, and classic Corrie.
The only danger, at this point, is overspending...
Hmmm....opening post.....cheap DVDs.......but a recognised poster?
I just don't know what to think.
Was about to shout "SPAM!" as well, but have just bought the two
London's Burning box sets I'm missing for quite a lot less than I've seen elsewhere - so I guess I should shout "thanks" instead

Indeed, I've just found the Prisoner on that site, and I'm wrestling with my conscience.
For the taste of it...Spam up.
It did occur to me that it was a spamtastic linkage but I'm not in anyway affiliated with the company, just a regular customer. One who shouldn't, really really shouldn't, buy the Complete Robin Hood on top of the complete Upstairs Downstairs. But I will anyway.
There's some fantastic stuff there, but their complete inability to include subtitles earns them a kick in the ringpiece.

no subtitles? that so
shite! Not usefully for Deaf person like me...
Darn you for posting that link! There goes the rest of my bank balance....

I used to find Watching really funny.
I wonder if it still is.
That site is like a mental tar-baby, oooh remember that, ahhh I'd forgotten about that.... and only a tenner! For a minute there I seriously considered buying the first season of Press Gang, just for fun. Then I realised how that would affect the y-axis on my Interpol Online Nonce profile.
Ah go on, you'll love it.
For myself I've got the complete Upstairs Downstairs, and The Adventures of Robin Hood. I was going to buy the Prisoner but as it's only a fiver cheaper than Amazons price I think I'll end up with Dawsons Weekly, Espionage, and At Home with the Braithwaites. Hoorah.
I hope you're on commission Brunt. That's The Owl Service on its way. I'm sure this series, which I never knew existed, was mentioned in a recent Meg and I was intrigued then. Alan Garner's great.
I've just ordered 'Boon'
*cries*

That brings back memories. Especially *that* song. (I was surprised to find out the singer was a man.)
Hey ho silver!* <Doo doo!>
You got me lone Ranger!** <Doo-be-doo!>
Rindin' on down....<Do-be-doo-be-doo!
Ta rescue me!
[Backs out of the thread...]
*pronounced "sil-VA"
**I'm not sure that's exactly what he's singing, but that's what it sounds like to me.
No equal rights for spammers here.Just an overwhelming bias towards some and against others.
That would have been so funny if it was worded in the spammers own peculiar take on the English language..
BARGAIN! Bought Sid James/Peggy Mount 60's comedy George and the Dragon for a damn sight less than HMV have it for! That's my evenings tied up for a while - curse you Brunt for such a good link! (and it's not even pay day yet!)
I've got nearly 50 discs heading my way...now how to smuggle them in so Nick oesn't see them before slowly putting them on shelves and attempting the old "I've had these for ages" routine...
After browsing the extensive catalogue on that site, I have come to the conclusion that my elders and betters were lying to me. I clearly didn't watch too much telly as a kid as I have never heard of about 74% of the programmes listed.
Anyone know of a similar cheap dvd site that isn't limited to old ITV programmes?
I've found sites before that claim to specialise in DVD box sets, but they often seem, shall we say, less than reputable, so I wouldn't be in a rush to buy from them and then find out that I've just paid 50 euro for a dozen DVD-Rs in plastic envelopes.
Has anybody actually received an item they've ordered from that site? Ten days and it's still "Processing.."
Nothing here. Was wondering about the delay myself - guess they've been inundated...?

Got this e-mail today re my order;
Please note, when ordering titles from our website, that the software navigates the purchaser from our website to Worldpay (to take payment) and then back again to the Network website to finalise the order.
If you interrupt this redirection back from Worldpay or your browser security settings are configured to automatically stop this from happening then your payment will be taken but your order will not be finalised and your items will remain in your basket (which is local to the machine you are using). When you complete a purchase from the Network website you will have confirmation emails from both Worldpay (for payment) and from us (confirming your order details). If you do not have the latter then your purchase has not completed correctly.
If this is the case then please contact us (via the Contact Page), stating your name, address, order details and Worldpay ID (it's in the Worldpay email you will receive) and we will complete the transaction for you and ensure that you receive your order.
Which I guess explains the delay, but is still annoying!
Nah, the delay was caused by a greater demand than expected. A hell of a lot of people are getting that mail, basically everyone who signed up for mailings. I've recieved my first lot.
Still no DVDs here - anyone else waiting still?

I sent them a (possibly needlessly) snippy e-mail last Thursday and got an almost immediate reply claiming my discs had been sent out on the Wednesday. They did arrive on Friday, but the invoice with Thursday's date rather gave the game away. So, they may well have a backlog, but get in touch and you can jump the queue.
