Title: Getting a subscription!!
Post by: JDnCoke on 25 February, 2009, 04:29:09 PM
Easy I thought, make a great birthday present for my DH. What better than all that thrill power delivered straight to the door. No need for DH to go traipsiing to the shops only to return a couple of hours later with Tharg clutched in his sticky paws and lots of other stuff that we have no need of " says I shocked and confused.

" no we've never done DD's at all, don't know why, you can pay with a debit card or a credit card monthly"

" I don't have a credit card, don't believe in them and my little one has hidden my debit card, so I will have to ring you back when I have found it, thanks very much."

"Oh!!" she says "by the way, we don't take the Visa Electron Debit card,"

" Ah!! problem" says I " only have an Electron card"

"Hmmmm!! " she says " you could always send us a cheque for the yearly amount."

"I don't have a cheque book"

So it looks like I am going to have to look for another birthday present for DH. I have to say I was not best pleased. Would love to know why they don't do direct debits, the Dr Who Adventures magazine that my son has quite happily does it by DD.

Any ideas anyone, where I can do a subscription that ain't gonna cost methe earth?

Long shot, and I suspect the answer would be 'no', but did you ask whether they take POs?

IIRC Direct Debits need you to be accredited in a number of ways and jump through lots of hoops. It effectively gives you the right to remove what you like from a customers bank account so is tightly regulated. At a guess Rebellions subscription department isn't massive and it would be a lot of work for them. Dr Who Adventures is BBC I believe, that's a whole different ball of wax :)
Good luck, Denise has certainly been very helpful whenever I've needed to ring up. I'm sure you'll be able to work something out.
