Whilst perusing somewhere i came across a mention that after resi 5 they are doing another re:make.
if this is true what should it be? my money's on an over the shoulder resident evil 2 (and perhaps with elements of nemesis shoehorned in)
what you lot fink?
I think if they're going to do anything it should involve more of the 'Silent Hill' puzzle elements that drive you nuts as well as the usual carnage.
The straight-up shooting zombies thing that they've concentrated on recently is all very good, but there are lorry loads of other games about that serve that purpose.
And they could take a leaf out of the GTA book about how to do your character movement/attack.
Oh, and make it scary again. Slightly annoyed peasant farmers with pitchforks wasn't quite edge-of-your-seat, was it?
agree on the peasants. I got into resi mainly cos of the zombie apocalypse thing. They introduced ganados becuse the zombies were too slow.
In my mind if they had the dead rising volume of zombies then theyd be a threat again and who can forget the crimson heads from the cube remake?
id also love to see a fallout 3/oblivion tyle game dumping you in an all out zombie plague and using exploration and improvisation to survive.
What about a gta style survival horror?
as long as its "proper " zombies.
or crimson heads, those fellas hd the 28 days later speed and the big claws! no NEED for a pitchfork or axe...imagine being chased by nemesis or tyrant through racoon city wthout a covienent "safe room"
I beg to differ with all of the above - Resi 4 was a fantastic game, and more than a bit scary.
QuoteThe straight-up shooting zombies thing that they've concentrated on recently is all very good
Erm, Resi 4 came out in 2005, and it was in development for years, so you can hardly call this direction recent.
And I would argue that the first act of 4 is the most terrifying Resi experience of all, and the only time where "Resident Evil" is truly a more fitting name than "Biohazard". You're trespassing on this village and
you are not supposed to be there at all. It's why Straw Dogs is much scarier than most genre movies, it's a more universal theme.
For me, creeping around an umbrella lab with only a handfull of bullets was the best format for resi
