Title: Second Sight might have been about Psi Anderson.
Post by: ThryllSeekyr on 11 March, 2009, 01:20:54 AM
As I completed the last part of the ESCAPE level in 'Second Sight". That would before another cut scene while one John Vattic made his way to the Asylum in Vermont. It suddnely occurred to me. How much this character Psi Anderson. Though I 'm not entirely aware of her powers exactly. I think hers are more subtle.

Anyway, considerining 'Judge Dredd vs Judge Death' has already been made into a game and that happnes to be villian with more of a personal connection to her.

Bit of a missed opportunity there.

To rephase that sentence" It suddenly ocurred to me how much thiss character could have ben Psi Anderson.'

QuoteExpanding the business away from a Slaine-heavy portfolio?

Buisness????, What buisness. You know, I was hoping, otherwise. I am fully prepared to accept that invevitable, that that Slaine Martech game will be the only Slaine computer/console game that will ever be made. So,  I notice something about another familer about  'Second Sight'  that might make for " Psi Anderson " game cause she's the only character, who might use a gun like Judge Dredd, but she also has theses mental abilites. Though , I think they are more premonition, clairvoyance, objection sence type powers then what passs for PK ability in 'Second Sight'.

Speaking of Slaine, playing some of  the Rockstar North games like 'Bully' ( Canis Canem Edit ), The Warriors ( Yeah, based on thet Ciult film) , as well as the GTA games that I have played. LIberty city, Miami, San Andreas. Those games have given me heaps ideas of how a succesful free roaming game about Slaine might work. The Warrior game in particualr, the movie it was based on and the book is also based loosely on
Quote--Xenophon's "Anabasis", the account of an army of Greek mercenaries who, after aligning themselves with Cyrus the Younger in the battle of Cunaxa (401 BC) in his attempt to seize the Persian throne, found themselves isolated behind Persian enemy lines.--

Quoted from the trivia section on IMDB.COM

That sereal feeling of wandering around huge city of New York city at night ( Whichs becomes like a gladiitorial arena maze.) with a gang trying return to their own territory alive. realising that most of the nemurous other gangs are out to get them. There's this backwards code of honour forcing them to do it hard, walk fight, run. It;'s sort like being thrown into worm hole back in time and thats where I see similarity to the tribilism in Slaine.

You might wan play this game to see what I mean if you don't understand.

In "Second Sight" NO, thet game has nothing to do with 2000AD or anything in the Judge Dredd universe on the surface. Nothing paking or in the storyline would suggest this. Though you may notice other simlarities.

In 'Judge Dredd vs Death' Of course she appaered in this game. She was in one of the begining cut scenes. Thats all I remeber of her though. and I have only got as far as fighting Judge Fear in the Met Art building. Otherwise there is no chance to play this game as Psi Anderson in the game. Unless I misssed something or pershaps I should just get back to reading the Case files. Theres probably some sublte thing about Judge Dredd and Psi anderson that I have missed and you have picked up on in the stories.

I just noticed last night, that the Mexcian Version of a poor man's GTA with elements of Max Payne called 'Total OverDose' is now free to play on Game Tap. Though you need to be American or in Canada to create a account which will cost abit of money. ( $10 to $60)

So Downloaded the demo, again. which,  I haven't played since 2005 and back then I raved about the game --perhaps on this forum.--thinking the main charactrter and the game itself would make excellent template for Slaine.

Getting something Warp moves instead of Loco moves ( You'd understand tis better if you have ever played the game or demo.) and picking up Time Worm eggs to redirect the flow of time during those moments of time when you let down your guard and have just received the death blow. On a mssion to destoy the Crom-Lech towers in the dead lands and face off with the local Slough. Employing many Skull Swords to get in your way.

I just ordered the game for less than twenty dollars early this morning.

i dont ask for your reply, as your replies are silly, as that game and second sight are many years old!

you always talks about any things that link to Slaine!!! if you want a Slaine game? then doing Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle-earth!

Quotei dont ask for your reply, as your replies are silly,

Yes, but not always. In fact alot of my answers are carefully thought and written to a theme that suitss the forum or the 2000AD comic which in itself isn't always serious or even true eityher.

Though, I'm not complaining about that.

It's why I like it.

Quoteas that game and second sight are many years old!

Agreed, but 'Total Overdose' is only about three years old. 'Second Sight'  I think has been around longer.

Quoteyou always talks about any things that link to Slaine!!!

Yes, but not all the time.

Quoteif you want a Slaine game? then doing Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle-earth!

That...... almost made sence to me.

Yeah, I know 'Lord of the Rings, Battle For Middle-Earth'

 I played the demo.

Apart from obvious fantacy elements that they may have in common. I would like to think of Slaine as being famous for having the Orcs pushed underground and the Elves faded into another obscurity. They've been replaced as the main heros and villains. As for a Slaine RTS. Interesting as it might seem, I don't think they built so much as used other ruins, caves, Except Cairns, round houses, wooden palisades. Not that I noticed any contruction going on in Slaine. As the buildings, they did use always appaered to be there all along. Apart from the Wickerman. For obvious reasons. I love to much cleverer more unique aparoach taken to this type of game. Something 'Dawn of War'. If I was going to base a RTS on a particular comic book universe and it's characters. Then I would base it soley on that comic and not try and borrow from the other genre games of that same type.

Hey ThryllSeekyr, I loved that Second sight game!

I thought the story was excellent - though my memory of it is hazy, I seem to remember being blown away by the fact that as your psychic powers developed during the game you realised that the levels you played in the 'past' were actually happening in the present and the one's you thought were happening in the present was you seeing the future! Mind bending stuff!

Thats wicked!!!!!

'Mind - bending stufff.

If the present was really the future, then John Vattiac must have been living backwards.

Because wasn't it the expeimentation in that facility that  gave him the PSI powers?

I think Thyllseeker makes more sense than a lot of articulate contributors to this site. These sneering posts are starting to seem a bit nasty.
He's sound
He loves Slaine
 His English isn't always 100%
So what?

Keep on truckin' TS!

I've must have been pl;ayting this game for full day now. I have completed the first misson, but would like to concentre on the tutorial lvels of the pseudo Mexican town.

I've noticed glitch where people walking around my character will die very easliy. With out me touching or attacking them at all. Sometimes they will walk into a wall or just fall over  and thats it they are dead.

I just wonder if anybody with the pc version of this game notices the same glitch.

Does naybody know if it's possible to play any games you had on GameTAp before they introduced the upgrades?
