I just found a list I made of New Year's Resolutions. I've managed to cross off most of the list: eat more sandwiches, check; sleep until noon once a month(but no more), check. But the "Read more adventures of Caballistics Inc" is still left. These goals seemed realistic.
I suggest that the mighty 2000AD, along with Gordon Rennie and Dom Reardon, continue the story; and that the story begin sometime before the last day of this year.
Please, help a fan finish something he started. If I can do everything on this list, maybe I can dream bigger next year.
Please.
An excellent series and, seeing as it's one that started during my period of unfaithfullness, one that seems to just stop at two collections. Surely there are more on the horizon?!? I really enjoyed it and would love more.
I'd rather see Rennie give this some measure of closure than be doing more comedy Dredds, to be honest. It was arguably his finest Tooth moment, and it's a real shame that it's just been left hanging.

I have assumed that these aren't "new" Dredds but some scripts Tharg has had in the drawer since before Judge Rennie took the Long Walk.
Now I may be mistaken but I'm sure I read somewhere (here or on 2000AD Review) that he was going to finish one series and get someone else in to finish another. As Art has boxed off the 86ers, this would, presumably, mean he still has plans to finish Cabs, which I agree is the best of a very distinguished body of work.
Dom Reardon is currently beavering away on some graphic novels for Tony Lee but I'm sure if the scripts turned up we could always kidnap him and superglue him to a desk for a while :)

Oh god what a waste.....
I am clearly in the dark regarding Rennie (as so many things, my return being recent you see), has he run off to join the circus? Why? Tell us where the green man touched you, Gordon....

Lured away by the filthy lucre of the games industry, Mike.
Cheers
Jim
Damn!
I have always been a fan of Caballistics Inc. and would love it to get the conclusion it deservers. A lot of my love for it has a lot to do with the wonderful art by Dom Reardon and such intelligent and developed stories as well as characters.
Aye, Cabs was top drawer. I hope it gets a good finish, but I don't want a rushed one just to 'round it off'. I hope Chapter and Verse don't return as if nothing happened- I'm hoping the focus continues on Ravne, Jenny and their unborn.
I'd be open to Ness comin' back as some sort o' undead thing though!
Stop fucking about with kids stuff like 'computer games' and get some manly comics written.
That conclusion to the 86ers did rather whiff of being tossed off in five minutes..... So to speak. Not that it wasn't good, it was rather that the join was a little obvious and it seemed a little rushed.
It'd be a shame if Caballistics Inc were to recieve simlar treatment. But to leave it up in the air would be a real shame. Not much chance of getting a third collection for my shelf is there?
*sigh*

Well it depends on what they are like. They are adaptations of
Evil Star and
Raven's Gate by Anthony Horowitz. I haven't read them but I believe his work has proved popular especially amongst that tricky to reach "youth"/"young adult" demographic so if they can get an introduction to comicy goodness that way then that has to be a good thing for them.
Plus it puts food on the table. A good hing for Dom. ;)
I'd be happier just knowing that a conclusion is on the cards, and not just a "maybe." Obviously we don't need to know specifics, but it would be nice to know there's a sincere intention for another 20-30 episodes of the series, when Gordon finishes up his obligations elsewhere, rather than just having the possibilities we're grasping. It seems that in recent years, the number has gone up, from the old nostalgic "When is Dan Dare returning?" to a really frustrating number of them. They're mainly written by Spurrier, for some aggravating reason.
I'm guessing that most of the people posting here are a lot more interested in Cab Inc than Gordon Rennie is.

True.
But TONY LEE?!?!? Really?
*sigh*
That'll be some of Dom's work I'll be actively avoiding then.

Thanks. It wasn't me. And I hate that you've made me deny it.
I'm just not a fan, but good luck to him. I just wish, selfishly, that Dom were working on something I might have a chance of reading some time. But at least he's working.
