My son has started doing youtube videos and I need a simple video editor to do some minor editing on them to keep them within youtubs required time limit.
Any suggestions on any freeware or shareware software available (or even a cheap one to buy)?
Cheers!
Hey Buddy/Ump, if you've got a Mac then imovie is easy enough or windows movie maker on the PC - both come free with your computer and are a doddle.
There's an unboxed Adobe Premiere Elements 7 on Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B001ELK950/ref=dp_olp_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1250149821&sr=8-1) for around £30.

Even I can use Windows Movie Maker so if you're looking for simple and basic that's ya fella on PC
I don't have windows movie maker on my machine (not sure why, but it is over three years old running XP and was second hand when I got it).
I'll have a look and see if it can be downloaded.
Cheers.
After looking it seems I should have it on my laptop, will have a look when I get home.
Hey Ump, you probably will have it, it'll just be well hidden which it sometimes stupidly is. Do a search for moviemk.exe in Program Files or Windows.
I did indeed have movie maker on my laptop!
Cheers!
All I need now is a 3gp to mp4 converter!
google SUPER...nice piece of software and free...
quickmediaconverter from Cocoon Software is nice too...

As did I! Useful, since wife has been badgering me to get the software so I can edit her stripteases together into a showreel. So thanks to Colin and Pete for that!
Why did they hide it like that?
Steev
Hey Steev, if the wife needs any help editing that footage, feel free to send it!

Well edited movie on Windows Movie Maker but now it just does not want to save it!
Seems to be a common problem afret I did a quick google about it.
Back to square one now.
I've had this problem a couple of times too, it's easily fixable.
Save the project, then go to Save To My Computer and.. plop, it crashes! Restart the program, load the project again, choose Save To My Computer and it usually works.
Annoying, I know!
No joy at all with this.
Gave your suggestion a go, same result.
Rebooted machine and had another go. Same result.
Which is very frustrating as it is exactly what I'm looking for.
I'd heartily recommend SUPER for converting between video file types without too much fuss.
