Title: PRE-OWNED GAMES AT GAME
Post by: Tiplodocus on 17 August, 2009, 10:42:59 PM
My mother in law got me a GAME voucher for my birthday.

I'm eyeing up Grand Theft Auto: ChinaTown Wars for the DS.

Game have it new for 29-99 or pre-owned for 24-99.

Now I don't like piracy or anything like that and I'm pretty certain that the way GAMES exchange policy works is that none of the money on a pre-owned game ever makes it back to the people that produced the game in the first place.

Can someone confirm this for me because I'd not like to help contribute to a system which means that Gordon Rennie starves to death and I'm to blame.

That's pretty much exactly how it works.

In which case, I think I'll buy the new one.

After all, it might fund a version of the game with dragons instead of cars and celtic barbarians instead of criminals.

But what could they possibly call it?

This is indeed how it works, but so does buying absolutely anything else second-hand.

Yeah, but when it's some guy on EBay, you have to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume they aren't a raging douchebag. In a Game store the naked hate Game has for you is all too visible.
