Title: StarGate Worlds
Post by: ThryllSeekyr on 28 August, 2009, 10:59:59 PM
As I tuned in to watch  "Wargames : The DeadCode".

I noticed the two boys playing a "Stargate Worlds" ---- computer game. Which looks like first or second person perspective shooter.

Naturally I had to look this one up and it turns out that it's a game that is currently in develpoment. Another MORPG, but it does look interesting as far as these types of games go.

Its about time this movie/televison series got it's own game. The game in the film either is early build or just mock-up. It might even have been a modification for Halo. I recognised the alien armour and those plasma throwing septre's. A little shabby it seemed, but my interest was piqued.

It was when "Stargate SGOne" was in it's infancy that I had heard that a Australian based computer game company were going to make a RTS or shooter type game for this. Though the company itself didn't last longer enough to see this through. So, I'm not terribly sure ifany of their work was used. Of course it may seem that way, as it's all the same really.

As for the "Wargames DeadCode" film.....

Sequel to the eighties film with Matthew Brodderick and Ally Sheedy.
after watching this, I prefer the first film.

If that one doesn't work, then just Google "Stargate Worlds"

If that one doesn't work, then just Google "Stargate Worlds

After which, you'll quickly discover the game's had serious development problems for a while, with the last known news being that it was looking likely the company making it was going out of business at the beginning of this month.

Really, I haven't read into it that far, yet.

I just looked at the game FAQ thing and looked at all the art work.

If they are goingh to throw this one, it's damn shame.

Would have been sweet.

After registering on their forum and asking "Whats up with their game"?

They told me, wellsomebody told me that rtheir were some problems with finaicing their licence, but thats suposed tohavebeen fixed until further notice.

Of course, I'm not really sure of that person's authority or the authenticity of their reply to me.

They could very well be in trouble and are just trying to cover it up, as if that might help.

Read my question and how it was answered here.

I post there under the name STAR-GATER.

GordonR might have read into something I haven't yet or being in the computer game industry might have made him privy to more accurate information, who knows.
