The answer is probably in ORIGINS which is spread around the house in many piles of comics. Plus if I reread it, I may be have to remember who disappointed and underwhelmed I was by the whole story.
Anyway...
What year would Joe and Rico have come out of their test tubes and what age would they have been? I'm guessing they'd have been 5 or 6 (accelerated) and put straight into the academy?
What age would they have been and what year would it have been when they were out fighting the good fight against the forces of Booth? Did we have anything resembling Lawmasters then?
What year is it now in Dredd?
Any help, greatly appreciated.
Dredd's tombstone in "Mutie the Pig" says he was born in 2066 so he would have been 'accelerated' to graduate in 2079.
I think the stuff with Booth was set in 2070, though I'm not sure.
Dredd is set (from memory) 122 years in the future, making it currently 2131.
Yeah I believe he was born in 2066 at an physical 'age' of 5.
When exactly was it made canon that Joe and Rico were accelerated clone births? I seem to recall Tharg coming up with some guff about it in the Nerve Centre after 'Mutie the Pig' contradicted 'The Return of Rico'; but, as far as I can remember, it wasn't ever made official in the strip prior to when I stopped being a regular Squaxx (Prog 764).
Or am I getting it confused with John Talbot's timeline in the 1984 JUDGE DREDD ANNUAL?
I have no idea.
Be good to find out if other, more encyclopaediac boarders would oblige...
hope your not trollin' :-* ;D
Me? Troll? No, not unless you mean in the Round the Horne sense. Did that earlier. Got wet. And not in the Kingdom sense (thank Cod).

Origins made it canon.
The big date to remember is 2079, when Joe and Rico graduated from the academy. The actual story began (in 1977) at 2099 which meant Rico must have gone bad straight away to have served his 20 years on Titan before reappearing in those early progs (2099, or possibly 2100 at a stretch.) Since the story has advanced year by year since then, we're currently at 2131. The recent Dan Francisco campaign badges support this.
I've banged on about it before, but this real time advancement is the strips greatest strength in my opinion - once it's been decided to go that way, it really forces the writer to develop the character rather than just reboot it every few years, like most American comics
DD can I use that 'we're currently at 2131' for my signature? ;D
