Title: help with the name of old 2000ad strip...
Post by: irnman on 29 December, 2009, 11:27:54 PM
All i can remember is that it was all in black and white
and that the main character had died (or some such thing)
and was in the afterlife with some strange creatures and
that if he ate (lets call them souls) he would be stronger
and have abilities in this relm...

for some reason i seem to remember that after his death, he woke
up in a cage, but that might be my mind playing tricks on me...

I know it not much to go on, but it has been many many decades
since i read this, but it's name hase been driving me nuts for a
few years now...

THANx irnman...

Was that Milligan and Belardinelli's 'The Dead' ...? I can remember almost nothing about the strip, but for some reason, your description is ringing a vague bell.

Cheers!

Jim

If it is The Dead that you are after it was reprinted in a 2000ad Extreme Edition.

Yep, the Dead was a wonderful strip! It's definitely worth having a reread - the only problem I had with it was the somewhat abrupt ending. But what a unique, moody strip that was. One of my favorites all time!

Welcome to the board, irnman.

Reckon Logan's nailed it.  That's the one, so go and find that EE on ebay or something.  And keep posting now you've started.  Nice to meet you.
