Title: Bring back the old!
Post by: slaine4free on 22 January, 2010, 11:26:53 AM
Hello there.
I've grown up with Judge Dredd and 2000AD all my life because my dad and brother read them, and I have to admit I've never read a bad story. One thing I do wish that you did more often was reprint more of the hand painted comic strips from 1990's. I know that you have released Rogue Trooper and such as that but your still missing some real jems. Have you ever thought about reprinting some of the Slaine: The Horned God issues? Because they were 2000AD at it's best. Also some of the old Judge Dredd issues are a real nightmare to get hold of, like Predator Versue Judge Dredd, Judge Dredd: Book Of The Dead and the Batman/Judge Dredd series. If you started reprinting some of the old classics I think 2000AD lovers all around will be very happy indeed.

Damnit Thryllseekyr, sock-puppetry is against the CoC.

Nah, welcome Slaine4free.  You may like to know that all of The Horned God is available under one tasty cover from Rebellion: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Slaine-Horned-God-2000-AD/dp/1905437730/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264160012&sr=1-1

All his B&W adventures up to that point are collected in 3 lovely volumes, with hopefully more to follow.  Can't help with the Dredd stuff you mention (not my cup of mead), but I'm sure it's coming.

There's a collection of Dredd/Batman stuff (not complete - missing the wonderful (but not painted) Vendetta in Gotham by Cam Kennedy) although that's out of print.  Amazon Marketplace or eBay should help you out and you won't have to pay too much either.

Book of the Dead was collected by Hamlyn/Mandarin and, as they're rather old, you'll probably have to go looking second hand as they're out of print for, I think, over a decade.  Judge Dredd vs Predator is out of print too, but seeing as it was truly awful that's no great loss - if you're desperate you can go looking for that too.  Good luck.

Personally I think ownership of the new edition of The Horned God with the annotations should be on everyone's bookshelf.  It's a thing of great beauty and it'd be nice if other creators were to offer a similar "director's commentary" in future.  Go and get it, you won't be sorry.  It's amazing.

Not, me, I gave up the pastime of multpble identities on the same messageboard/forum years ago.

I once had four personas on the ASG forums before they dropped the game they were working on and the whole thing collasped in on itself. The forum fell into disuse ever since the game was cancelled.and was closed down.

I just hope I had nothing to do with the cancellation. As I did hear that it was dropped by the creditors or publishers and was perhaps cancelled while they were wating for somebody else to pick it up.

I think alot of their ideas went into other games.

Anyway, I had like original persona, which is normal. The next one I made was evil, sort of like the little devil that sits on your shoulder. The other tow were wierd, or strange. I don't remember much about them Different aspects of my personality.
Of course i Have many personaas on alot of diffeent forums. They are al pretty much my normal self.

Much like ThryllSeekyr.

Now, Slain4free is a odd choice of name. Why assume that Slaine is for free?

hmmmmm?

As for getting Slaine repints. They should still be selling if you can find the link right at the bottom of the front page, before you choose Community.
They should have all the Slaine reprinted. All the way from Warriors Dawn to Horned God hopefully Demon-killer later this month.

As for Judge Dredd There are now atleast 14 phone books called Case files. They cover alot, while not quite covering everything.and sometimes the priting is bad, some of the picture dissappears in the fold.

I think some of the later Dredd Files are full coloured reprints. But don't quote me on that.

Well, what else can I say but Tordelbach beat me to this.
