Title: Dreddworld's Intergalactic Cops
Post by: John Caliber on 14 February, 2010, 02:34:01 PM
What is the name of the intergalactic police agency in Judge Dredd? Not the Space Corps, but what appears to be a network of intelligence shared by interplanetary law enforcers? It's along the lines of GalacPol. GalactaPol?

Assistance is much appreciated!

Only mentioned in, I think, David Bishop's Dredd novels - InterDep.

I'm sure it's something like GalacPol... or does that come from Strontium Dog?

I've only started researching the novels. Isn't InterDep one of the names for the worldwide (rather than intergalactic) Justice community?

Are you talking about the Intergalactic Judges conference? If you get the Meg then they reprinted that last year it may have a reference to something like that there.
I think Strontium Dog is Galactic Crime Commission (GCC) or at least it was before Johnny Alpha died.

No, it's a police federation of sorts, where intelligence is shared. Lawcon concerns a convention held by the Galactiplex Corporation. 'GalacPol' is never seen, only mentioned in passing.

The reference has to logically feature in a story with Dredd and an alien menace inside MC1, or an intergalactic fugitive.

It's probaby easier to wipe any mention of this organisation from my text than waste time searching, to instead write around it.

Thanks any way!
