I've just found the button on the site that lets you see what everyone is doing. It's oddly compelling in a big brother/ creepy stalker kind of way.
It's on the home page, beside the list of active users.
Now, all together, I wonder why he's looking at that?
And what's an "unknown action" and what is happening when someone does "nothing, or nothing you can see" ?
Intriguing. Particularly this bit:
QuoteGuest 21:45:24 Nothing, or nothing you can see...
Sorry, I edited that in!
Not that helpful as it can't show "forgot they had the forum open on their browser and wandered off to do something else" or "having a poo" or "looking at porn in another tab on their browser, oh boy that is some sick stuff you nasty bar steward".*
* However, we Global Moderators can see this last one so all I can say is "unhand yourself or I'm phoning the police!!"
Haha. I came across this a while back and its compelling stuff! You come across people who are viewing some other random persons profile....why??? Or somebody -like right now - in a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally old prog review thread. Well, someone is reading the prog 1589 thread at the moment, thats reasonably old...They're further behind than I am!
And when you update it you get to see who has just that very minute logged on, who is posting in what topic so you know what topic a new message is going to appear in next.... oh its simply fascinating!!!!!! :)

Dirtbag.
That's fascinating. The 'underware' thread seems pretty popular; several guests are simultaneously checking out one person's profile and others are looking at threads that are years old.
I always have a look at the list of who's online when I first log in and it never occured to me that that little group picture was anything other than decoration. Even after reading this thread and going looking for it I was looking at the screen going "there's no button there, what's he on about?"
Of course I won't be able to not look now I know it's there. A bit like the stats, which are akin to crack for me. I'm obsessed with how many replys the book thread I started has got (sad I know but I started it when I was quite new and it's the only thread of mine to have any staying power so it's kind of a mascot). There is also the question of just when not if, Trout will become the most prolific poster and the always thrilling "who's been online the longest?" which has taken on the status of the most important horse race in history. I was genuinely gutted when I went offline for a while and slipped a few spots.
Yes. I am the saddest man alive.

Only if it said "Inside your house with one hand down the front of his pants".
I swear I saw:

Why are people printing threads?
I can't leave this alone now!
A few minutes ago 16 guests were looking at one member's profile - a chap who'd signed up a month ago, never posted, and whose website address says "online marketing"
This is just going to escalate until one day every member's status has them viewing 'Who's Online.'
well i've had a look, most interesting.

I can't find the button.
Oh wait, I found it!
Now I can see what I'm doing at all times!
Tordelback is viewing my profile! Ooooh! ;)
Am not!
That's an odd one, 'cos I really wasn't. I was reading the Doctor's Smurf Joke at that time.

You expect us to believe that?
Try harder Tordelboy.
It's okay Tord. I look at your profile all the time, there's nothing to be ashamed of. ;)

I can't find the button.
Don't worry. One day, you'll get to be with a real woman and she'll probably tell you when you find it.
Cheers!

By then "Sexmeks©" will be available and there will be a "button", bright red and clearly visible.
Don't be ridiculous!
...there's no way I'll live that long.
