hey guys, i just came across this board and i want to share some of my stuff here:
well since this is 2000 ad, i had to start this off with the judge:

i'll have to resize my other works so i can post them here as well. see you guys soon.
Interesting...
I like it, excellent line work.
Very nice; hints of Simon Fraser and perhaps early Kev Walker
Good drawing
and...gasp...you can see Dredds face! :o
Oooohhhh...Love that work Jake!
(are you looking for any comic scripts to work on!?!??)

thanks!
well, it depends.... if there's pay.....starving artist man, sorry.... :D
That's some very nice stuff there. Seeing Dredd's eye like that just seems .... wrong, but I love those character designs.
Best of luck from going from 'starving artist' to 'wealthy in-demand artist' (and then to 'fanboy-derided sellout' of course :D)
That's all pretty good. I know 'pretty' doesn't sound like much of a compliment, but believe me, it's a big one, I'm just not good with...urm... words.
Ah yes I have stumbled across your Peacemakers character work elsewhere (CBR? Penciljacks?) and that is a unique take on Dredd - the eagle on the shoulder pad looks like it is going to take off, but I draw the line at being able to see Dredd's eye!! Smells of heresy ;)
You should definitely try one of the sample scripts and submit to the house of Tharg
Agreed. There's some really good stuff there. Get to work on a sample script posthaste!
No reason for you to be a starving artist, with work like that!! Unfortunately I'm not the paying kind but like the guys above me said, you should be sending stuff to those who are! Pronto!
Nice.
That's a whole Parrot of a shoulder eagle and three pouches on the gloves?
Draw Dredd much before?
A lot of nice work there, the only problem is with Dredd's eye you'll find were quite an anal bunch when it comes to the Judge.
Also welcome to the board and I hope to see more of your work.

Although the eye might be there to distract from the number of links in the chain ;)
sorry about the eyes guys! will keep it mind next time.
here's a redone version, i just found out that there is a shaded part of the glass in his visor.

i think this is the second time i drew this character, i remember i drew him before when i was younger.
i came across this board and wanted to show off my stuff and i just didn't want to post my work and leave, i had to draw the judge so i had a reason to.
anyway, are there sample scripts here i could try and maybe draw more of this character?

Very nice work Jake, although Dredd and Abe are the only characters I know from that bunch. Love to see you have a crack at a script. ;)
I approve. Although the Dredd is the weakest work there, your style reminds me of Steve Yeowell in lots of places which, in my book, is perfectly awesome.
thanks for the script your highness! :D
thanks for the comments james and darren, who's abe?
anyway, i'd like your opinion guys, if i should do the scripts with the cartoony style or this style:

or more realistic still? let me know what you guys think.
Follow the mood of the script I'd say. Amazing stuff though - !
I'd agree with crazy fox machine, but I'd also say that you'd need to use the lawgiver seen in the comics. Thia is all really great!
More a design point than art criticism, but the name on the badge needs to be more visible. Reason it's there is so people can tell the judges apart more easily, so it's not a good idea obscuring it with the shoulder pad. Excellent stuff, though.
thanks for all the help guys.
i decided to do the PF story because it was pretty funny, and i like to do fun stuff.
bare in mind, i am doing this on the side, so i'll post the pages one at a time:

let me know what you guys think.
great stuff jake
Very nice, with lots of detail. I like the different "camera" angles, which keep things interesting.
thanks johnny and jared! i'm glad you liked it!
here's the next one hot off the drawing table:
seriously , Tharg- give this guy a job
great art, and fast!
thaNKS johnny!
here's the third page:
I'm loving this. It's one of my favourite scripts from the sample pack. Can't wait to see more.
thanks chili! have to do some other work first before i get to the next page. :)
