Title: Problems logging on and Cookie Options?
Post by: Colin YNWA on 02 July, 2010, 08:32:55 AM
Not sure if anyone can help but at home last night I couldn't log onto the forum as I kept being told to check the cookie options on my computer. To my knowledge I've not played with these at all and have no idea what I would be looking for to change them? The only option I could find was

'Tools'
'Internet Options'
'Privacy'
'Advanced'

and then playing with the cookie options there but enabling the cookies didn't seem to have any effect.

I did change my password yesterday so assume it might have something to do with that but all seems well on my work PC? Anybody able to offer any advice on what I might need to do when I get home?

Arh sorry for the double post but seem to have sussed it. Another machine at work wouldn't let me in so I cleared the existing cookies and hey presto in I am.

So will try that at home tonight. Sorry for a needless thread as it turns out feel free to delete.

If anyone has any such problems the first advice is: shut down the browser, clear out the cookies and possibly even reboot. Then try again. It is likely the cookie has got corrupt or the data in the database is linking up with it correctly, so remove the cookie (and also kill the session) and try again.
