Title: Juvenile-humour-related advice needed
Post by: JayzusB.Christ on 13 July, 2010, 06:00:59 PM
Being an ageing comics reader, my sense of humour stopped maturing somehere around my mid-teens. Having such a puerile outlook leads me to enjoy Viz a lot; I've already had a letter and a profanisaurus entry published.

Anyway, I have a small 1-panel cartoon I want to submit to Viz but have no idea how to do it. Could anybody with similar experience tell me what resolution etc. it should be scanned at, should i e-mail it or post it, and what I should include with the cartoon?  Thanks in advance.

I had a strip published in Viz a while back - the very risible 'Ronnie Barker in Heaven (Issue 183, Bee Man of Big Ben on the cover).

I was chuffed to have it printed though I can imagine they get a lot of stuff and simply can't reply to unsolicited submissions - I never heard back about any other stuff I've sent them.

As it says in small type with the credits somewhere inside the comic, you can email your work in. Send them a file big enough to be legible and web resolution (75dpi). If they want to print it they will get in touch and ask for a print resolution file. Good luck!

Hey, I remember Ronnie Barker in Heaven - nice work, chief! Thanks a million for your advice; I'll give it a shot tomorrow

I seem to have had a Top Tip published in the meantime.  It's the one in the latest issue slagging off caricature artists* for anyone else who's a fan of Britain's favourite toilet grin mag.

*I failed to mention that I've dabbled in the job myself.
