I thought I'd have gambol down memory lane in the Doodle thread (http://www.2000adonline.com/forum/index.php/topic,24092.0.html). Cheerfully, I clicked on page one, only to find that some fiendish turd wrestling digital funter has eaten all of the pictures from the beginning of the thread! Bastich sphincter licking pus scabs!
Is there a shelf life on images or summink? I thought the interweb was basically infinite, that's right isn't it? Or is the wormhole retrieval system on the fritz?

Dang, that's odd. The pic I posted on page 3 is still on my photobucket account so I've no idea why it isn't showing.
It's a real shame as people had posted all kinds of cool stuff.
Ooh that's not good. I wonder if it was to do with the whole site-upgrade thingumy that happened a while back?
I think one of the board upgrades changed the tags from normal HTML (with pointy brackets) to BBCode (square brackets) and this may have broken the links...

Everyone could go back and repost the images....but you cant edit the posts unless that could be arranged but i dont know if its possible.

Possibly. I just went and edited the posts, changed nothing and the images pop back up again. Can't really explain that - as Jim said the BBCode might have been changed but the code actually works as it is. I wonder if the computer builds a static HTML version so it doesn't need to do the grunt work on the raw post each time and somehow this the change in the forum has stopped it working.
The fix is simple, if a bit dull...
