To celebrate the visit of Roger to the Capital city (and an excuse for a pint) how about a get together for a drink* or two with some fellow boarders?
I'll suggest...
Friday 5 Nov, 6pm (or earlier) The Bow Bar, Victoria St (aka The West Bow)
http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/edinburgh/pubguide/bowbar.html (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/edinburgh/pubguide/bowbar.html)
Well what's it to be droogs and chellovecks?
*no shopping, eating is optional, Roger's Mum won't be putting out either ;)
Cannae make it. Going out boozing from 12 on the Saturday. Is the next week an option?
unfortunately Rog is away home on the 6th...
The image I have in my head is Roger roasting on a spit and all the North of the Border boarders having a slap up meal with their pints :o
That sounds entirely too healthy for a Scottish meal, CF. We'd clearly deep-fry him.
I'd be up for that providing I can get the night off work for it (which shouldn't be a problem).
Alas I have a wedding that day at the lovely £175 a day Marr Hall. No I'm not staying over - I've got some Mattel moulds to save for. And a new front door.
Balls. Forgot I already have something on that night. Will make it along for two (or possibly three) after work before getting the train back to the big city.

Ah, Bollocks. The last CalHab gathering resulted in a script that got accepted by Zarjaz. And with Rog being there, another would be a certainty!

That looks like a very good choice of venue and i read on their website that they salvaged period pub fittings from other pubs that were modernised so top marks for that.
Mibbies aye, mibbies naw.

It was a problem. For some reason (maybe bonfire night or something) that night has been popular holiday-wise so work won't let me away. I'll make sure and do a big plop on my desk in protest :(
I'm up for a couple of pints and it's been at least three weeks since I was last in The Bow Bar. Would be nice to meet some of the boarders.
It turns out that my parents have booked a meal somewhere, so I'm afraid I won't be able to make it. SORRY FOLKS. :(
That's a shame Roger, maybe next time?
I'm still game to hit the Bow Bar at six having already cleared it with the Memsahib

No offence to anyone who isn't a holidaying internet prankster but, as I was only planning a fleeting visit anyway, I'll give it a miss.
nae probs cosh, george and I were meeting for a drink last night but changed it to tonight anyway...
next Jock-shedcon planned well in advance and not on bonfire night!!
Come on then, what happened and let's see the pictures!
Ha, Just Dode C and me, but being an Edinbura pub each of us met up with other folks to so great fun, Covered a lot of ground front Dredd's yfronts, and MC1 nose picking to the Stuationists derives and flanerie.
Nae fotaes tho...
We're heading to Eidinburgh for acouple of days. Anyone free for a drink this evening?
I'm based in Glasgow work wise these days otherwise that would have been an instant yes.
But I am through in Embra on Monday, so if you are still around then, I might be able to sneak out.
