Anyone going, or went last year?
From what I heard it wasn't even worth the petrol money let alone the entrance fee!
I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, but then I wasn't queueing up for signatures - that certainly needed organising better. I think Rebellion made it their convention swan song.
The 2000ad segment was great.
And I picked up some lovely sketches from Clint Langley and Leigh Gallagher, so it was a win win for me.
I'll be there this year, pimping myself silly in the dealer's room (and hopefully a panel or two). Would love to meet some of you guys there, grab a pint or something :)
Looks like I've bagged myself some tickets! So see ya there! :D
a work colleague who is not at all into comics or sci fi has won a bunch of VIP tickets via a cinema promotion. I had to explain to him what it was all about and what's likely to be going on - I suspect he and his mates are just going for a booze up and to laugh at the nerds.

you planning on attending this 'un?
Alas, no mate.
I'll be at P-Con in Dublin around March?
Nothing planned beyond that, but you never know where I might pop up :)
Oh, what's this P-Con?
Just been confirmed for a panel, 4pm on the Friday: 'What scares us in the 21st Century?' alongside Sarah Pinborough, David Moody and (wait for it) Al fricking Ewing! :D
I promise not to fondle Al's mighty beard...
(much)
Really enjoyed this years SFX Weekender, it seemed far better organised than last years and there was a decent turn out for the 2000ad panel on Saturday morning, despite the many hangovers that many must of been nursing.
Few tasty tidbits from Keith Richardson regarding a Caballistics Inc spin-off series.
News on a forthcoming Al Ewing/Leigh Gallagher Dredd tale from the men responsible.
And I got to meet the lovely Clint Langley and Pat Mills! Yeah, Pat 'Frikkin' Mills!
Very happy AD fan, I can tell you!
And a most interesting conversation with Glenn Fabry and a nice little chat with Bryan Talbot too!
Pretty good event for a 2000ad fan overall I'd say.
Here are some sketches from all the lovely accomodating droids I obtained from the event-sorry I can't show you Fabry's Dredd, but it's too big for my scanner:
Hope you enjoy:

Wow, some very nice sketches there - could you take a photo of the Fabry dredd, I'm intrigued to see that!

Will do dude, but I think It'll have to wait until tomorrow night as I'm beat!
:)
Is that Potato Con?

Is that Potato Con?
If you're asking me Logan, it was the annual SFX Sci-Fi con at Camber Sands.
I agree - best sci-fi con I've attended yet. Really cool mix of people there - I missed the 2000AD panel as I had my stall in Bartertown. But I did share a panel with Al Ewing and may have touched his beard, perhaps disturbing the poor gent...
Anyway, here's the write-up of my experience:

What a twat I am, for some unknown reason I thought that this was miles away, I've only just realised it's a 30 minute drive away ::) :-[ :-[ :-[
That's it then, I shall definately pop along next year!
Isn't there supposed to be a small Dredd film presentation at this?

The next one's in Prestatyn Sands, North Wales 2-4 of February 2012.
Shame you didn't make it Commando Forces-I live near Ashford Kent and it was quite something to have a con so near.

I thought that was at T'PAU! (or whatever Mark Millar's event is called).
Cheers
Jim
Cancel my last then, I won't be popping along to next years ::)
