Brilliant! Hadn't expected this to still go ahead after the Caprica cancellation. Part of me wants them to leave it alone, but part of me just wants more BSG goodness.

One looks like it's on Hoth. :)

Excellent art has definitely piqued my interest.

Did I not read somewhere that it will only be on the internet and that the epsiodes would only be 9 minutes long?

Sounds like it will be a lot of shite if that is the case.

They did do something like this before the last series of BSG but I understand that this is a proper series.

I think I'll just wait until the final series has aired and buy the box set if it gets that far, I'm getting fed up of investing time in Sci-fi series only to see them cut off in their prime.

I want it now! I'll even take it as just a comic. Feed the need.

I would assume it's a full series, otherwise it would seem a bit pointless. The webisodes are surely only worthwhile as promotion for an actual telly show? Unless there's more money in them than I think.

the webisodes where very good on BSG.
they came with the box set though i saw them on the site.

they where like set pieces within the context but slightly away from it, almost a side show to the main deck for instance., though the lost raptor one was bloody awesome. season 3 i think that one.

I'm sure the dvd version of Razor has some webisode stuff edited into it, never watched them on the site but I'm sure I remember hearing all the 'young Adama' stuff was webisodes. Was great too.

It's been almost a year since this thread started...anyone have any real news on it? There's absolutely nothing new on IMDB (apart from the fact it's supposedly due to start in the US in 2011- they're about to run out of time, 12 colonies style, if that's the case)...

Holy crap, I almost reposted the link in the op as new news. I hadn't realized it'd been a year since those turned up. No I haven't heard any new news about it. Concerning. Cause I need more BSG.

The Blood & Chrome 2 hour TV film is made but SyFy haven't made up their minds what to do with it, whether to air it or break it up into webisodes. I doubt there'll be a series unless ratings go through the roof, if it airs. My feeling is SyFy aren't particularly pushed about more BSG and they can't afford another big series so they're just sitting on it. Many pilots never air or are released long after they're made.

The longer they leave it the more dated it will look considering it's mostly a green-screen based show, which may give an indication of its smaller focus.

Crap, not good news at all gentlemen. I really do hope they at least air the pilot though- the flashback sequences in Razor were brilliant.
It had it's flaws, but all told BSG is one of my all time favorite shows- some truly unforgettable scenes. To this day I can still remember literally standing up with adrenaline when the Galactica jumped into New Capricas atmosphere!
Not something that's gonna happen watching the 98% drivel that's on the box these days...

Since Ron Moore has nothing to do with it, it may just not be BSG.

they should go direct to DOWNLOAD system,
likely with the target audience, they could make a pile of money on this, no investment needed, no stock to sell on,
with Itunes genius system, they could target us directly. if it sells by the bucketload, its a serious indicator for them towards potential value.

never let the suits forget the downloads and DVDs returns of Firefly.

Apparently Bear McCreary finished the music for the Blood & Chrome pilot in February so maybe we'll see it fairly soon.

I thought I read somewhere that this had been scaled back to just a few webisodes... I hope not though. Caprica was a noble effort but ultimately I felt it didn't really know what it wanted to be. A young Adama going toe-to-toe with chunky old school Cylons (as seen in the flashback in 'Razor') would make a great show.

that looks good, no way is that going to be Webisodes the hulking Cylon protype has my attention.  Looks like the action so many people craved that was missing from Caprica (it would've been arsom if the show was still going and led naturally into this butt his will do.
All digital sets, looks like they did a nice job of it too.

Virtual reality!  Man, I miss 1992...
That music is obnoxious and makes me hate that showreel.  Doesn't help it's just a catalogue of shakycam shots and cgi, either.

SyFy are likely sitting on this on the off-chance it's well-received, because the last thing they want is to have to spend actual money on programming - they hate doing that even more than they hate having to show sci-fi.

Exciting trailer, really looking forward to this. Missing my BSG fix (Caprica was OK, but didn't really satisfy).

So what's MACHINA PRIME then? Is it a cable channel or some internet based thing?
And how many episodes of what length are we expecting?

(I could try google all this but felt like a conversation)

It's a 2 hour pilot broken up into 7-12 minute webisodes. After they're shown it will be shown/released in its original version.

First two parts were pretty good, some nice little touches, like the references to Caprica.

Anyone have the time or patience to check if this actually fits with Caprica's timeline?
And what about the flashback scenes in 'Razor'? They still make sense now?

Did you notice when an expletive popped up a noise covered it slightly. This may get annoying unless I just imagined it happening.
Apart from that, I'm enjoying how rapidly the story is progressing and how everything is shown on screen!

After the first BS( as in the new show) i cannot bear to watch anymore.

The first show was a turgid mess, slow and in places like the Love Boat in space. It was by pure willpower that i suffered through it and have no intention of watching any spin offs..... ever!

I'm really enjoying this, the acting may not be up to scratch at times but the action is good and it's enjoyable in the 'webisode' format they're showing it in. Shame it wasn't picked up for the full series.

(I loved the BSG reboot, but agree that it seriously lost its way in the last couple of series.)

Blood & Chrome:  Great stuff, good fun. (not too keen on the clumsy title, though).
Nice to see alien monsters/ice snake thingies in the BSG universe(even if they were only Cylon hybrid constructs, and not native lifeforms).

Incidentally, I enjoyed all series of the re-booted Galactica (+ Razor and The Plan), and never felt it lost its way.  I admit, it could be indulgent and a bit repetitive at times but was still a very fine adult science fiction show. (and I fancied Grace Park like mad).

Still, each to their own...
