Title: Free Books - just pay for P&P, etc.
Post by: Large48 on 07 June, 2011, 01:36:48 PM
Hi all,

I seem to now have a huge stack of books that are doubles etc just getting in the way!

They are free to who ever gets in first so let me know what you want so I can weigh them and get a cost out to you for P&P and Paypal fees if you want to use that route. Hopefully I should have some old jiffy bags or boxes to reuse to keep costs down.

All different, in no particular order and some very weird!

LoD, if you haven't read them can I recommend you also take up the offer of the Hugh Cook books? I read them a long time ago but really enjoyed them a lot, as they went against the usual fantasy tropes and were big, mad, dirty adventures.

China Mieville has spoken very well of them and wrote the introduction (http://myelvesaredifferent.blogspot.com/2010/06/china-mievilles-introduction-to-hugh.html) to the recent release of the first book.:

QuoteCook was a fantasy writer whose 1980s and early 90s decology Chronicles of an Age of Darkness, though hidden from the attentions of the middlebrow lit-snob by their wizards, dragons and high-kitsch covers, are intensely clever, humane, witty, meta-textually adventurous and pulp-avant-garde works.
