Just found an old video tape in the garage of this and it brought back a lot of memories from years gone by...

Battle of the Planets. That was ace.
Also called Eagle riders and gatchman in other countries I think.

Awesome cartoon from back in the day,didn't they cut out lot's of violence from the uk version?

I watched some 'Eagle Riders' a few years ago and didn't recognise much of it. It seemed like a totally different programme. Although There was a considerable gap since watching Battle of the planets as a kid.

I certainly remember when this appeared because it was like nothing else I'd ever seen. I didn't peg it as Japanese back then (cos they all had American accents - d'oh!) and I couldn't put my finger on what was different about the animation, but the way things looked and the way they moved was so different from any other cartoon I'd seen. I'd forgotten about 7-zark-bloody-7 though!

Very fond memories of that...
Equally fond memories of 'Battle of the Planets' bars...probably a high proportion of the reason I got two molars pulled out in my teens!
