I see pretty much all the films like SRSLY. Mainly because I get paid to watch them at work *as well as* just straight up lovin' films, film buff stylee. I'm often reaally fussy cos I see so many and after the first million they all feel samey - so YMMV and feel free to argue just an IMHO of the films oot at the flicks currently
Bel ami - 3/5 - robert pattison fucking everyone. Period drama. It was quite well done but i wasn't entirely sure what the plot was. This may be due to pattisons limited acting talent. Very much a book I think.
Project X - 3/5 - idea based on a true story of high school kid trashing his house having a party. Incredibly over the top but good enough for a laugh. Garden gnomes full of ecstasy, lots of pretty teens etc
The raven - :'( I'm not even rating this other than to say WTF. In a 1-3 rating way depending on offence taken to the rape of poe. John cusack was terrible as poe (he's just not right) and the who dunnit angle was very laboured. I guessed who it was but only by default. Dinghy this and go read pit and the pendulum cos that's like my fave horror story ever
Safehouse 3.5/5 - I did enjoy this and found it exciting and tense but a boring done to death plot. corrupt government agents names on microchip and ooh who to trust dn dnn DNNNN yeah whatever seen it a million times tv movie.
Wanderlust 3/5 - I may be being harsh here cos a lot of my friends thought it was hilarious but I dunno hippies and nudists etc are kinda easy prey imho and not exactly what I call stella wit to make fun of. Lots of ugly naked old dudes.
Woman in black 2/5 - It has been a long time since I saw this many b-horror cliches in one film. And I watch the horror/scifi channel films. Creeky rockin chairs, rattling door nobs, a marsh, creepy woman at window in back of shot, creepy things in photos, porcelin dolls... Like SRSLY I could keeping going. Harry potter daniel radcliff also in no way looks like he has a 4 year old son and works for a law firm. One for the 12-16 range.
I don't get to see 3d films cos a lot of autistic people don't like wearing glasses. Is anything else out I mighta seen it can't remember everyone of them sometimes x
We already have a film review thread.
I saw a film, once.
I think there was a monkey in it.
And some aeroplanes.
That was quite good. In fact, I remember thinking at the time, 'this is quite good.'
I can move thread if you want but chat gets stale if you stick with the same threads sometimes. And besides, I'm not email subscribing to 'general threads' and I'm trying to stay in the loop :( x
Just click "Notify" on the topics you're interested in following. Swat I do.
yah I do email notifications sweet cheeks but I hate being subscribed to threads that are too busy cos I don't like my phone going all day x
Can we have the scoring out of 10 please I find it a little more accurate in gauging the films worth.
Thank you :)
I cant comment on any of them as I havent seen them, yet.
I only really have 3 rating - shit, ok and worth watching. There's usually more polarisation in my reviews but all the films just now are very 'meh' x

If you only rate 1,2 or 3 why have rated the films out of 5

So it wasnt Tim Burtons Planet of the apes then?
cos it was slightly better than the rest but they're all tv films anyways so who cares. Except the raven - that was an insult to poe. I have another couple and ill do them out of 10 but then I might be getting moved offices and not get paid to go the flicks so often. I see most of a lot of these films several times, especially anything that has a running time of 2 hours. Ill miss that.
Hunger games - 8/10 - cheesy american remake of battle royale. Kids on an island have to kill each other yadda yah for some socio-political reason. Its much snazzier than battle royale and feels like they just threw money at it. They try to give more back story to the main girl and the reasons for the games but it all comes off a little forced. Lots of very cheesy moments and bad dialogue at times. But lots violence is violence and, just as in battle royale, where the real excitement lies. Only a 15 tho so don't expect the same levels of brutal violence. Basically, if you haven't seen battle royale then watch that, but if you have seen it and liked it then you'll like this too. Probably. If americans don't piss you off.
21 jump street - 7/10 - I was expecting this to be a lot more dire than it was. Bro-mance undercover cop comedy starring jonah hill and channing tatum. 2 useless cops go back to school on a drugs bust, but this time as friends instead of bully and victim, however due to coldplay etc its no longer 'cool' to be a jock. Cue clever role reversal of who's considered 'cool' and lots of pill based humour. Not amazing but light hearted fun x

Ah, but that one doesn't have the all-important word 'Judo' in the title, does it?
