I have started the petition with Lego to produce Dredd lego...however I need a picture that I am allowed to use to show them what is possible....If we can get 10,000 "Likes" they will look into producing it....
Please put any Lego Dredd pictures on here that I have authority to use (These pictures must be yours and you are ok to let me use for free) and I will submit them..
:D
Thanks,
Nick
They don't make Lego tie ins for R rated movies/things that have guns in.
There was petition for Shaun o the Dead Lego, and it was nixed for that reason.
And that SOTD set looked AMAZING

They have relaxed the rules on guns by necessity. The batman sets have had a lot. Besides Dredd would be ok on the basis of their original rules as the lawgiver is a futuristic gun which they've never had an issue with. Andersons MP5 would fall foul of that though. Your first point is however totally valid. They'd never go for a R-rated tie in.

Look for the 'Adult Lego' range, you'll find it next to the 'Extreme Duplo'.

Even now, that decision irks. Lego made utterly the wrong decision with that set. It has sets based on relatively extreme things that happen in Indiana Jones, after all, and it caters to adults with certain sets. That it couldn't have done a limited run of SotD is insane.
There are lego sets out there without guns?
Good Lord!
Somebody obviously did not think of the children!
Pew pew!

Must remember to buy more Lego from that film where that guys in love with his sister, the one where that guy murders that green get and the fight scene where the dude gets his hand cut off by his dad.
Dredd LEGO will never happen!

:(
Oh well....It was worth a try.....
I think you aimed too high.
Tente or Sticklebricks maybe?
Though I am starting to think how cool a Dredd on Lawmaster would be!
micheal carroll did a cgi mock up of some (see my avatar) i'd love to see these film or comic based...perhaps character options is the way forward with their dr who and military lines...or mega blocks who do ok with halo.
I heard this nearly happened some years ago but it fell through.

I think a 'minifig' based on the comic book Dredd is more likely than the film, but I agree Dredd still doesn't really have the numbers for Lego to justify 'tooling up'. They tend to stick to nailed on franchises with a larger young audience. I think that it's still worth starting a petition just to raise Dredd's profile.
However, there are a few smaller independent makers of 'lego compatible' products, who may be more interested in Dredd. You can find a few of them on http://www.Firestaytoys.com (http://www.firestaytoys.com)
These are some other 'custom minifigs' I found on the web (not manufactured).

We prefer to seek out/deal with licensing opportunities ourselves thank you.
But we need things like this :'(
Odd that Lego won't make Lego with guns. Hmmm let me think about all the Lego Star Wars I have. All the ships have guns, all the stormtroopers have guns, most of the characters have guns, some of them even have lightsabers. Which lets face it kill the fuck out of loads of people in Star Wars.
Hell there is even a Lego Death Star which is basically a huge flying super bastard gun the blows up fucking planets!
Lego don't make toys with guns, my arse.
Lego deal in guns & horror - so Dredd wouldn't be out of order at all.

Contemporary weapons is their actual stance. They have been making 'space guns' since the 70s space sets, and I have boxes and boxes of Castle soldiers with a fine array of weaponry. If you look at the Batman sets which is the closest they have got it's things like Ingrams and Thompsons. Stretching the 'contemporary' policy a bit but they tend to with licences.
I take your point on contemporary weapons, and you're also right about them making 'space guns' since the 70's but the Batman range is certianly stretching the contemporary weapons claim.
Personally, a gun is a gun is gun. I certainly had enough imagination as a 7 or 8 year old as to what 'guns' did to people whether they were real or not.
DREDD LEGO NOW!!
The Indiana Jones LEGO had contemporary weapons with the German Soldiers.

Well that's it then they have no excuses. :D

Nope it doesn't. At least no more than any other set. It has revolvers and shotguns first seen in the cowboy sets, tommyguns and ingrams from the above mentioned Batman sets and an array of knives and swords. All of which are considered old enough not to be contemporary. They do appear to be trying to find ways to get around their own policy however which is a bit odd. The power of the tie in dollar I guess.

Precisely. I mean I'm not big on merchandising at all really, I don't buy action figures or anything like that, but even I would buy Lego Dredd. Hell who wouldn't? (Apart from non-Dredd, non-Lego fans that is).
dredd playmobil! theyve always had gunz
I made these a while ago, I was going to make Rogue too but couldn't find any blue hands.

Very nice, though my first thought was 'why is Dredd wearing a tank top and long gloves?' ;)
We are now at the pending approval stage...should know more in 72 hours....

Just voted, only 9,994 more votes needed 8-?
I've voted too but you'd need Rebellion to push this though wouldn't you? As it's their property.
Yeah, I voted this morning, but forgot to reply.

When you apply you have to let them know that it is not your property...I guess the rest is up to them..
:D
Have just shared this on Facebook I have several mates who would support this. Excellent stuff.
Aaaaand... apparently "this project has been deleted". So it's a no-go I suppose. :(
That sucks, I got several of my friends very excited about this.
Robo-K33F did say Rebellion prefer to sort out their own licensing deals. This was always a strong possibility. As much as we'd all love to see Dredd Lego, it's not actually our IP.
Ah well...
Lego might not go for it but what about these guys:

Dunno if many in these parts have seen this but its a little interview with Rufus from one of the 2000ad art exhibitions he curated (the one covered in Zarjaz waay back). Anyway its got some Lego Dredd in it made by some of the Lego designers incase people missed it.
