Back when I first looked at concept for the new movie I was reignited with excitement for all things Dredd. What an amazing movie. Difinitely going again!
The only Dredd I had ever read as a kid were stories where Dredd turned into a werewolf! They were my dads books, and I read the over and over!
Living in Canada access to the Megazines or Progs was VERY limited. Now I'm near a shop that carries both. I'm torn which to get because the Progs are fairly cheap but come out 4 times a month and the Megazine is once and half the cost per month. What do people think is thre better value?
I've picked up Case files v.1, and Mega-city masters v.1&2.
This seems like a great forum where everyone is fair and quick to answer questions.
welcome aboard.
There are plenty of things to get yer hands on ...and a quck trawl through the forum will point you in the right direction.
America & the Pit to name two....fear not the hivemind will inform you.
So much to look for! It's a great universe and really great to get a chance to read different types all in one book! It's quite a different thing for this comic fan. Digest anthologies are pretty unusual here.
welcome - If I had to chose, it'd be the prog over the Meg any time - you get more new Dredd episodes per month, plus oodles of other great strips. The Meg on the other hand does include a free floppy (they call it a graphic novel, but it's a comic) of old reprints.
I found outs can get the Progs for half the cost of in store here. I might stick to buying the Meg monthly, and also get the collected books.
Also just had DREDD viewing #2 today. The wife even wanted to go again! Might make it a 3rd if a friends asks.
Welcome and yes, go for the prog. The meg may appear better value due to size and the freebies, but in terms of quality the prog is living in another country entirely. Pick up progs 1800-1802 to see what i mean. Perhaps download the digital versions before deciding, as they're cheaps as chips.

Now then Chairhead, and welcome to the forum,
..and, yes - if you can stretch to it, go for the Progs.
Thanks for the advice gang. The book is pretty new to the shop as I think I'm the only person who's asked about it in the past, so we might not have too many back issues. I'll try a couple more though.
Just got Hondo-city Law in. Yikes in the old progs at the start they used "nip". I was surprised they hadn't edited it out of the trade, but I guess they wanted to show how it was before.
