Title: Judge Dredd Complete Case Files Volume 20 Official Release Date?
Post by: The Bissler on 26 November, 2012, 03:24:24 PM
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but the link below represents the first release date I've seen quoted for Case Files 20; 20th June 2013.

Assuming this is correct - and it may not be as Amazon says the publisher is Ravenstone rather than Rebellion - this will have been over a year since the release of volume 19.  Is there any chance the frequency of these titles can be increased? I want to give you my money!!!

I could seriously do with an official Amazon wish list so I know what's coming out when, which are American editions etc.

It has, but no worries. The forthcoming thrills thread http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,35334.0.html (http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,35334.0.html) is usually pretty hot on these pre-release dates.

Rebellion's been oddly silent about the reason for this rather massive gap, but I suspect it's been because they wanted to prioritise the reprinting of earlier volumes in the wake of Dredd 3D (and the ongoing release of the US editions for the same reason). A load of Case Files 2-14 on the shelves is much more likely to hook potential fans than the likes of 19 and 20, after all!

Yup.  See post 432, back on the 9th.

Thanks for this and sorry for missing that thread before.  It was good to read some of the comments there, a lot of it sums up my feelings on the case files release schedule.

I agree DJ that it makes a LOT of sense for Rebellion to focus on getting out the cream of Dredd to a new audience who hopefully loved the film as much as many of us here did.  I really hope they can capture a new generation of fans and attract a bigger following (as would be well-deserved).

But for someone who had given up on 2000AD in the early 90's (a couple of case files back), the slowing down of the release schedule has been a bit of a source of frustration.  I'm hoping that things will maybe speed up a bit after the publishing of CF20.  While I don't forsee the day that the CF's ever catch up with the comic, I'd like it if we could maybe catch up to maybe a decade behind!

I've been watching a bunch of early Case Files in an amazon wishlist and they go in and out of stock on a daily basis sometimes for a week to ten days; methinks Rebellion is having some fun trying to keep up with the demand!

Personally, I'm quite glad the release schedule slowed down - I'm completely on me arse, flat broke, brassic and that's showing no sign of changing any time soon. I picked up CF15 in February and I'm hoping someone will get me CF16 for my birthday or for Xmas. At least with the current rate of releases I won't fall *too* far behind.

Sorry to hear that Noisybast, that's a horrible situation to be in and I hope things improve for you as soon as possible.  Apologies both to yourself and anyone else reading this if my post seemed a little insensitive to people who are struggling to make ends meet.

I'm just desperate to read more of the Dredd stories that I've missed out on and from my own selfish perspective would like to see the Case Files being released at least three times a year.  I can imagine that might be a problem from a financial point of view for some others.

Not insensitive at all. When I had money, I was more than happy to buy the Case Files as fast as Rebellion could put 'em out! :)
