Hi all,
Usual stuff....long time reader....went away for a while but have been back reading the Prog and the Meg for some years now (recent stuff is of particularly high quality) and enjoying pretty much everything.
I have been lurking on the boards for a while but figured it was time to join in from time to time and get to know a few more people. Familiar with a number of people on the forum and am a keen accumulator/hoarder/collector of precious material I call 2000ad artwork. My fall into addiction has been a rapid and predictable one, but have come across a really good set of people that share the same obsession.....
On that note a big shout out to Ming and particularly Judge Jack who was very kind in contacting the moderators of the site when my log on wasn't working (at all) particularly well!! You Sir are a gentleman!
Much love........
Welcome Malak Brood- if that is your real name!
I've only been a forum member for a coupla years, so have always avoided the 'Welcome to the board' threads, but that changes in 2013!
So, any particular artist / 2000AD story you're an original art fan of?
Hey Link....
all the classics really, Apoc War, The killing, always loved the Warlord storyline. Artist wise, big fan of Cam Kennedy, O'Neill and Carlos....how bout you?
Like you, I've recently been infected with 'The Affliction', and have spent a bit on what I'd consider my personal wishlist pages- I'm a huge fan of the Ennis / Hogan / Abnett era Strontium Dogs & Durham Red (unusual around these parts I think), so have ticked the Mark Harrison & Nigel Dobbyn boxes already.
I love Paul Marshall's stuff too, and have a few of his Dredd's, but am hoping to get a page from Firekind someday.
Regarding vintage stuff, it's Bryan Talbot & Kevin O'Neills Nemesis work that rubs my rhubarb, but so far I'm out priced on both...but I aim to remedy that someday!

Ahh, another member of the CAF mafia has arrived!
Looking forward to seeing you posting in the original art threads - as well as elsewhere.
Welcome to the forum
malak brood
your arts! we must see all the arts! hehe welcome aboard. whereabouts you from malak? x
Welcome aboard, have fun. If you pop over to the 'Original 2000ad art thread' as I'm sure you have already you'll see I've started worrying more than I should about getting original art so no doubt I'll have questions for you over there!
When M. Brood starts showing off his art collection, be afraid... very afraid. In art collecting you can go for quality or quantity, but M. Brood has opted for both - a sickeningly good stack of top-notch pieces of 2000AD artwork. You'll see what I mean soon enough, I'm sure!
Good to see you over here!

Well, if i manage to find some treasure I feel worthy of the board, i'll make sure I post it for all to enjoy :D
Location wise I travel around a fair bit, I have origins, but they are mysterious ( and probably embarrasing !)

Hi Colin, thanks for the warm welcome. Happy to chat art anytime, thats a big part of the fun. Worry not by the way, I haven't yet bought a piece of artwork that hasn't blown my socks off when I saw it up close, they are a real joy to have, and the great news is if you change your mind or another opportunity crops up you can often work out a trade or two! Buy what you think is awesome.........
