I'm currently putting together a Judge Dredd related art show at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe.
So far I have some original pages but would be really interested to hear from anyone who collects original Dredd artwork and would be interested in loaning it for the exhibition.
We will also be showing Judge Minty and having items related to the production.
If anyone has any other artefacts then I would love to hear from you. I'm especially interested in hearing from any creators or artists/designers/makers who were inspired by the storylines.
-Everything is insured whilst in our care and we can arrange collection/return.
-We can frame the work and have a lot of experience in handling and looking after art
work and works on paper
-Galleries are invigilated and covered by CCTV.
If you can help then send me a message here and I can email you back.
Lots more details to follow but we will also run a comic related event to tie-in with October's Big Draw and an after hours evening event for the exhibition.
Oh and we don't have a proper title for the exhibition yet :-[

Double nice one! Been hoping to catch Minty for a while.
I see the exhibition is a fair way off. Will there be regular updates?
I have relatives in Lincolnshire so I think I should go and visit them while this is on. :-)
This is such a cool idea! Good on ya! It may pay off to approach collectors individually (a quick search for 'Dredd' on CAF will throw up a few good names). Now then, how far's Scunthorpe? (My birthday's on the 13th Oct, I feel a pressie coming on!)
Hi,
Don't have any art I'm afraid, but will help out regarding Minty.
Might be worth contacting the guys at Invada records/Geoff Barrow about the Drokk album, and I'm sure there will be a few accurate 2012 Dredd costumes floating around this year.
Cheers
Steve
Has Burdis et al signed up to police this?
Are you accepting/looking for original art based on/inspired by Dredd? I don't mean comic-style art, but artistic responses to the character/world?
I'm lucky enough to live in Scunthorpe and 20-21 is a great arts centre. In fact it was the place that kicked off my original art addiction. There was an exhibit tied in with the big draw one year (early 2000s I think). I'd seen stuff before when I lived in London but it dawned on me I could own some of this stuff rather than just fawning over it.
Fast forward to 2013 and I dragged my two folios into see Miss Oktober one Saturday. We had a chat and it sounds like a great idea for an exhib. Ms Okt has a ton of great ideas and contacts [SPOILERS]
I'm happy to loan anything from my top shelf. Anyone else from the original art thread willing?

Just a thought for Miss_Oktober, but have considered asking Brian Bolland (http://brianbolland.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/hey-this-is-my-new-blog.html) if he'd be willing to, maybe, attend? He's a Lincs lad, afterall.
This is a great idea!
Albion, I may try and sneak a lift with you!

Not sure when I will go but I will probably be up there for a few days as me and Mrs Albion will stay with the relatives.
Hello again
Thanks to everyone on the forum who replied and has helped out along the way. The show opens on 12 October with a couple of events.
10am-4pm - The Big Draw - Draw Tomorrow
Part of the national Big Draw campaign, it's the first chance to see the exhibition and take part in creative activities themed around future worlds and comics. Whilst the day is aimed at families, anyone is welcome to take part.
7pm - 11pm - The Big Quiz - Evening of Celebration
Join us for a special screening of the fan film Judge Minty with an introduction from director Steven Sterlacchini.
We'll also have two quizzes;
Masterbrain will see experts in their chosen subjects of 2000AD, Doctor Who and Stars Wars battling it out to win first prize.
There will also be quiz sheets available on the night for all attendees, with a chance to win your own custom Judge badge from Planet Replicas and a selection of other prizes.
Interplanetary Division Cosplay DJ's will soundtrack the evening and there will be a licensed bar.

Well, well, well. Looking through those pictures I was delighted to see Pete McKee the Sheffield artist is a fan. Did not know that and I'm well chuffed. He has his gallery / shop just down the road from us and we walk past it on the way to my daughters school. Seriously cool artist and when we next get a McKee print I know which one I'll be asking after... whether I get it is another matter!
Seriously cool stuff, as is the rest of the stuff... but Pete McKee a fan, seriously cool!
It was a great night. I really enjoyed it and my partner, who doesn't read comics, enjoyed it too. She was fascinated by the art.
Well done to the organisers. I hope plenty of people visit the exhibition over the next few weeks.
Good to see that Mick Austin Dredd cover there :-)

Didn't know any fellow boarders were there. I won the quiz for y'all. Only agreed to it in the morning and won a Planet Replicas badge for my trouble. Still feel a bit stupid I couldn't remember Ian Dury's name, all I could think of was new boots and panties.

I did speak to you after that. I mentioned Dury and the Mean Angel "4 1/2" thing. I was wearing the Judge Minty Crew hoody.
Oh hi. We did speak after all. I never know who anyone is

This looks like a terrific show of work, wish I could have been there. Well done Scunthorpe!
Hello all,
I was hoping to go to this tomorrow. Does anyone know opening times please?
Thanks,
Darren.
Hi Darren, they are closed Sunday. Think it's 10 till 4 Tues to Sat.
If you hold off till next Saturday there's a few things happening. Plus they are showing Minty & Dredd (in 2D) that night.

Stolen from their Facebook page...
"Our Judge Dredd art exhibition ends on 7 December and what better way to end the show with a FREE talk by illustrator and comic book artist John McCrea.
You can see John's most recent work on the IDW Mars Attacks Judge Dredd series in the exhibition, but he's also drawn an impressive line up of comic book icons including Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider Man, Superman and many more.
The talk takes place at 1pm in the Education Room.
Find out more about his art here:
http://www.johnmccrea.com/biography.html"
"As well as the John McCrea artist talk during the day on 7 December, we are also hosting a special 2D cinema screening of DREDD starring Karl Urban in the evening.
This will be your last chance to catch the exhibition and also see the brilliant Judge Minty film on a big screen at 20-21. There will be free popcorn, a chance to make your own Judge pin badge and a licensed bar. The event is for over 18's only.
Tickets are £2 each and available now from 20-21 in person or on 01724 297070."
Fantastic! Thank you very much for all the info. I have Saturday off so really looking forward to it now. Thanks again.
