Title: Digital subs and other noob questions
Post by: craigjwoodfield on 08 March, 2013, 09:27:01 AM
So...

Started reading 2000AD about 1979, gave up about 2004. Somewhere I have all issues from #1 to #1200.

Considering getting a digital subscription, and would like some advice.

How can I get access to all the issues I have missed?

Is it IPad only, or will it work on other tablets?

Are the digital issues transferable, and backup-able?

2000Ad only, or JD Megazine as well?

Any other issues I should know about?

cheers

You can't - 2000AD are concentrating on getting new issues up and not trawling through the entire back catalogue. (I'm sure they will at some point, but it's not a priority)

Yes and no. There's a digital subscription/ipad app which is ipad only, and then you can also buy it digitally via the 2000AD shop and download cbr/pdf files.

2000AD is sub only, the JD magazine can be bought from the online shop (this may be changing though...)

The ones from the 2000 AD shop are just standard PDFs, so yes. The ones in the iPad app are technically possible to extract and back-up using something like iExplorer, although their location within the app package is obfuscated.

Note that unless I'm mistaken, subs taken out in Newsstand do enable you to redownload previous purchases as often as you like, and on multiple devices; however, they're obviously reliant on both the publisher and provider being accessible in order to do this.

Maybe I've picked you up wrong but the last three years worth of digital Progs are readily available here: http://shop.2000adonline.com/categories/2000_ad_prog
