So, for our summer holiday we're staying with my sister-in-law in Windsor. Normally when we do the Glasgow-London trek, we stop over somewhere. An eight hour drive with a three year old is... not fun.
Last time, we stayed in a Holiday Inn in Haydock. Which was fine. But the problem is that the Friday we are coming back, the 5th of July, is a weekend when there is racing on - and the prices are a bit bloody steep.
So, can anyone recommend a decent hotel/ B&B/ farmhouse/ doghouse for a two adults and three kids to sleep? Ideally, four hours south of Glasgow or north of London, depending on how you are travelling.
Ideally, it'd be something like Creiff Hydro (which has in-house baby sitting, a creche and a soft play - allowing adults to bog off to the bar). And not too far from the motorway. It's for one or two days, depending on cost.
Any thoughts, hivemind?
