Hi Guys
I'm looking for a little bit of guidance from you guys.
I really want to attend at least one of the events this year, as I have never been to one before (even book signings are a rarity down here in Cornwall), but am not sure which would be the best to cut my teeth on.
The only time I have ever met a contributor to 2000ad, I was trying to decide which JD Case files I was going to buy from our local Waterstones, when a couple appeared next to me and tried to start up a conversation when they realised I was browsing through the 2000ad material. They asked if I liked the latest Nikolai Dante story, as he had done the artwork, to which I answered ' not seen that much of it' and 'I didn't know a lot about the lesser storylines as I had only recently returned to the fold after a 10 year absence'. We chatted for a while and he offered to sign a copy of the Dante book if I wanted to buy one. I thought about it briefly, then replied ' No thanks mate, I'm here for me Dredd fix' and didn't notice them walking off.
I now regret having totally dissed them, as I have caught up on a lot of the essential reading, and it turns out I'm a fan of his, and am kicking myself repeatedly for screwing up a once in a lifetime opportunity.
You totally screwed up Simon Fraser's attempt to impress his date too.
Wow, I hope this is true story, that's the funniest thing I've seen on here since a certain someone chose to troll their local WH Smiths, on a weekly basis.
Feel so sorry for you, but man that is a funny story to tell!
Tragic tale; couldn't help chuckling though.
Gulp! Poor Mr Fraser - talk about being wounded!
Might not have been Simon Fraser.

I agree. Best way to make sure if it was Mr. Fraser,

Did he look anything like this handsome chap in the pic?
(sorry, the link was supposed to go directly to his page. Click on his name at the top and you'll get a nice shot of Mr. Fraser!)
Even more ashamed now - I've checked the photo and have to admit I can't remember if that was him because I didn't really pay that much attention to him :-[
I do remember they had come down from North Cornwall, because we talked about the roadworks, but other than that .........
As well as advice on which event I should try to attend this year, perhaps some guidance on how to behave around artists would be in order
