I recall reading that these two phonebooks got issued in the 2000's through the online shop only and mired in printing problems.
Can anyone give me the title? I have found them before in previous comments but cant find the link.
Trying to do something similar myself so particularly interested in hearing from anyone who actually has one in their cellar (other storage rooms are available)
IIRC they were called the Digital Archives.
Thanks Trout. A quick search shows all the threads about it.
What a curious name for a printed collection but perhaps its a hindsight thing and they sounded cool at the time.
Anyone got them and able to scan a contents page ?
I do have them but I'm afraid they're in the custody of a moving company along with the rest of my collection.
Logan may be able to help you out.
Do these ever come up on eBay? I only look periodically but don't think I've ever seen one for sale.
If I was home typing this they would be next to my left foot and that's not the film ;)
I have them too. I was really hoping they were going to continue.
I started reading 2000AD until Prog 86 and it was great for me to read those first issues.
I started a search for them an age back but they don't come up very often and last time I saw them (we are talking a while ago now, they went for silly money, as you might imagine. In the end I contented myself with the fact that aside from the Dan Dare stuff I had all the strips in the issues covered and so couldn't justify the expense and time.
Did Eagle reprint the Dan Dare stuff by the way?... to Barney...
No. The Eagle reprints of Dan Dare started around Prog 50. Making that pretty much the only ongoing series from the first couple of years unavailable in any other format.
There is no contents page. You get the normal bollocks that says when it was printed and then it opens with the cover of Programme 1 and away it goes!
Thanks guys.
Commando - are the colour pages like centre-spreads in colour? Did they 'white' out the pages or are the yellow. And are they comic scans or do you think they are from transparencies?
I'm back at work now but there is no colour inside. You can tell the centre spreads and covers are different though!
This is all very interesting, and something ive never come across before.
Bit of googling finds the original thread, and ill quote it so others un-familiar with these can have a read.

Over at 2000ad Review I've seen mention of this fella and a second volume reprinting issues 1-20 in their entirety. Does anybody have anymore info as I can find nowt on Barney so I'm assuming they're unofficial?

i have a copy of the Archives issues 11-20.
Will dig it out and see whether it has a contents page etc...
I am also in the market for the first volume if somebody on here is interested in selling?
That's one of mine on the patio and I did verify that they don't have a contents page above!
