Title: Self-promoting: Jennifer Blood #25
Post by: Mike Carroll on 12 April, 2013, 12:58:47 PM

Hi folks,

Just wanted to let you all know that issue #25 of Jennifer Blood is (or should be) out now at your local comic store. As of this issue, I've take over the writing duties from the great Al Ewing... Who, by an accident of editorialness, is still credited as the writer. Apparently issue #26, already at the printer's, will feature the same mistake, but I assure you that it's me who's to blame for the story, not Al!

Artwork for this issue is by Eman Cassalos, cover by Mike Mayhew.

Thought I was seeing things when I saw you credited on this weeks Midtown Comics listing Mike.
Will pick it up!

I will check this out even though I suspect you have sold out these days, Mike - "Dustin's just a puppet" indeed!
If anyone has seen the covers and thought "Nah" I can't really blame them for not picking it up so far, but they're missing a great book and for whatever reasons, the people who make the covers and the people who make the stuff that goes inside the comic clearly do not speak much.  It'll be interesting to see where it goes from the seeming corner it was painted into by the end of the last storyline.

There's a big divide between Dynamite's cover art and contents across all it's books which does disservice to it's contents. They always go sexy on the covers but the art inside [usually] is nothing of the sort, I imagine there's a lot of outraged pervs out there cursing Dynamite's name.

The first two issues of Damsels, the first issue has a J. Scott Campbell drawn cover complete with a mermaid backside and the second has the Rapa, the main character, wearing a barely painted on bra and panties doing the Boob and Butt pose. The interior art however is a kinda cartoony, and isn't cheesecakey at all.

Anyway Jennifer Blood

I've read the first two trades and was waiting for a good time to jump on. If I already know about the thing that kinda sends the ball rolling is issue 25 a good place to start collecting monthly?

Thanks, Dweezil - glad you enjoyed it! I'll be on Jennifer Blood until at least issue #35: delivered the script for #31 last week, and the artwork is already coming in for #30, so we're pretty far ahead of schedule!
