Hey, 2000AD fans... Douglass Barre here, writer of MYTHSTALKERS and DEFIANCE from Image Comics. I wanted to post here, because 2000AD is really the spiritual model for my newest project. It's called CHIMERICAL TALES, and it's a new online serial fiction anthology for the discerning cliffhanger enthusiast. I'm running a Kickstarter for it right now, and I'd love y'all to come take a look.
If you like fantasy, sci-fi, or pulp adventure, click and ogle: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/321395714/chimerical-tales
If we get funded, one of the covers for the magazine is going to be by Clint Langley, who you should know is as awesome a gentleman as he is an artist. We've also got upcoming covers from comic greats Matt Howarth, Mike Grell, Mark Oakley and more.
I'll even be continuing MYTHSTALKERS as one of the serials in the magazine, so if you were one of our elite (by which I mean few) fans, you'll finally get to see how the story ends!
Thanks for the attention, folks!
Douglass Barre
Looks interesting, a few questions for the new to Kickstarter.
Is it a comics or a pulp mag?
Will it be digital only?
How much do I pledge and what do I get?
Cheers
David
Happy to answer!
It's a prose fiction magazine with weekly covers by comic artists. Each day of the week there will be a new online chapter of one of five running serials. At the end of the week, the cover, the stories, and new editorial content will be put together into a .pdf magazine file suitable for downloading and reading on tablet, computer or phone.
There are a wide range of pledge amounts, which you can see at the Kickstarter page (they're along the right side of the screen). I personally recommend either the $10 level, where you get a free sample ashcan of the .pdf magazine or the $25 level, where you get a subscription to the .pdf for the entire year. (Okay, I also recommend the $500 level, where you get to make up the title for one of the stories and I have to write it.)
