So he's going to be renamed Judge Judge?

Well, it's not unheard of - we do have our very own Mr Justice Judge in the UK.

That can't be right.  Surely it's a mistake - 'Dredd' isn't that hard to pronounce for non-native speakers; andI once had a conversation in my appalling Spanish with a non-English speaker in Malaga, who referred to Dredd as 'Juez Dredd'.  (I didn't even bring it up - he was actually trying to explain to me what 'Juez' meant and used Dredd as an example, so we hit it off straightaway.  Turned out he was a far bigger comics geek than I was.)  I know Portuguese is a different language and all, but if it's 'Juez Dredd' in Spanish surely it's 'Juiz Dredd' in Portuguese.

By the way, isn't 'Ciudad /Cuidad Barranquilla' usually spelled wrongly?  Wonder if it's corrected in the Spanish version?

Good stuff. Lets hope that it takes off over there. I always thought Brazil had a pretty big comics market, surprised Dredd at least hasn't made it over there before.

Still that's a good selection of thrills so fingers crossed it finds a market and continues after the first six.

Most scanned comics (including manga) are in Spanish and Portugese, having been translated by fans.  I can only assume there is demand but not supply, as the scans stay up long after their English language equivalents are taken down.
