Title: Launch event with Robbie Morrison and Jim Murray
Post by: Simon Beigh on 26 May, 2013, 06:30:00 PM
Well known droids Robbie Morrison and Jim Murray are at Gosh Comics in London on 21st June between 7-9pm to launch their new work, Drowntown. More details can be found on the Gosh website:

http://www.goshlondon.com/2013/05/drowntown-launch-party-exhibition/

Drowntown is set in a future London submerged under the rising sea (good old global warming...). Check out the full synopsis on the website and some of the cool Jim Murray artwork. If you can't get to the event, Gosh are taking orders to post signed and dedicated copies. Again, follow the link above for more info.

As I am a massive Shakara fan, I tweeted Robbie and asked if he would sign my books as well as Drowntown. He said he would if I did a good job of promoting this event  :)

So please come along if you are around.

P.S. I couldn't see a thread discussing this but might have missed it. If I have, newbie error!

Little bump calling all Squaxx near to London on the evening of the 21st June to swing by Gosh Comics. Fun for all the family (if the family like meeting top quality writers and artists and getting their stuff signed!).

And CFM is looking forward to Drowntown. Surely no finer recommendation?

Great to meet Robbie Morrison at Gosh Comics. Not many folks there at 7pm, and unfortunately I couldn't hang around, but I hope a few more turned up later. It did mean Robbie had plenty of time to chat.

He said he was pleased with Drowntown and says that it has a definite "2000AD" feel to it. He was very pleased with the recent positive reviews. Of course, I had to ask about Shakara. Robbie feels it has ended. If he ever had a sudden spark of creativity, he might write another episode, but he doesn't think it will happen and Henry has certainly never spoken to him about doing it. Shakara did so many awesome things, he's not quite sure how it could get any better or be any different. And he didn't want to drag the character out. Better to leave on a high.

Robbie was happy to sign the other books, comics and artwork I had taken with me, which was greatly appreciated.

Sadly, Jim couldn't be there, which was a real shame. We weren't told why, and I didn't ask, but hope Jim is well.

Gosh we're excellent hosts, and beer and wine was flowing freely as I left. It was my first time in the store and it was a lovely place. I had an enjoyable 20 minutes going through the stock (and ended up with the Marshall Law Deluxe Edition signed by Pat and Kevin!).

Thanks to Robbie and all at Gosh.
