Title: Twitter Advice
Post by: radiator on 29 May, 2013, 11:07:32 AM
Hi chums,

I've been using Twitter to promote my artwork, and one of my pictures has been getting a fair bit of attention which is very gratifying. I want to push it a bit further, and circle in a few more people/companies to the original tweet who might be interested in sharing it. I could of course start a new tweet, but ideally I want to keep the momentum going on the original one. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

I think the easiest thing might be to reply to the original tweet, or one of the other replies, and then include the Twitter accounts of the person or persons you want to include. When you hit "reply", Twitter will automatically fill in the accounts of the people in the chain. You can delete these (or keep them as well) and just put in a load of new ones.

For example, when you hit "Reply" you might see:

@example @whoever @blah

If you wanted to add me in, for example, but get rid of @blah, then delete @blah and type

@example @whoever @SimeonBrewer

Then include you original Twitter picture URL (copy it from the original tweet) and you are away.

Gosh, I hope I explained that OK. Give me a shout if it makes no sense!

Simeon

Just retweet the positive comments while thanking the poster.  The original post - and image - will be attached as part of the conversation chain.

Right, think I've got it. Thanks.

I'm always amazed Twitter caught on - it's so bloody unintuitive!

Here goes... (as great as it is to get some Twitter love, it's equally galling to be ignored...)
